Maybe it's just because I have higher expectations of OLP, but this album is such a let down compared to their earlier work. The energy isn't the same, and it feels forced.

The synthpop sound of Cause and Effect breathes some fresh air into Keane's sound. In a way, this feels like a better executed Strangeland, especially in regards to the songwriting. Songs like You're Not Home, Put the Radio On, Strange Room, and Thread reinvigorated my love for the band once I actually listened for the first time
