Excisions fatal flaw as an artist is that he doesn't know how to not be aggressive, so when he goes for things that call for an emotion other than aggression he flounders.
How can one man be so good at sound design and yet suck at all the other parts of music making.

The drops range from pretty good to mid, but man the rest of the track is too gimmicky to justify a higher score.

I find myself coming. Back to this track every so often so the drops are doing something right, but it's too gimmicky for me to praise it farther than that
Is it a stupid gimmick? Yes absolutely.
Do I hate it as much as other people seem to? Not really.
Like the non drop sections are pretty dumb I'll admit it, but the rest of the song is harmless enough.
