despite Chase This Light really being the album that solidified Jimmy Eat World’s descent into mediocre pop rock, its also an album with some of their greatest songs. Big Casino, Dizzy, and Be Sensible (a track only on the deluxe version or smth idk) are great and it really seems like the band is giving it their all! unfortunately though i think most of the stuff on here is bland and safe. an album that has me very excited for the future of not only the English vocal synth music scene, but also the fifth wave emo scene. I’ve always thought that synthesized vocals add such a unique texture to rock music and this album is another example of that. i will say though, i think my biggest issue with this album is the vocal mixing.
