Some gems on here but also some 🤨 parts. I think this is an album that Kendrick really needed but idk there are just some wack parts on a couple of songs that just turn me off. Overall pretty good and I am trying not to hold him to this impossible standard because of what he has released in the past. Really personal album and a lot of good with that.
It carries all the way though with some awesome folk. I have not heard a modern folk album go quite as hard as this one and like every single song off this thing is just top tier. A really modern take on folk and that is just want I needed. Some standout tracks are Spud Infinity, Title Track, and Simulation Swarm.
Lots of cool ideas but almost like too many, I got a little whiplash on some parts where I just wish it stuck to a sound for a little longer. Love the big sound on this thing though. Some songs that stood out to me were Yak Song, Telephone, and Typewriter. Also getting BIG Porter Robinson influence from this thing.
