Loving anything is draining. It is as life-giving as it is soul-sucking. The only way to feel nourished is to fulfill the role you were born with. LIFE is not meant to be lived any other way, but the road ahead is enslavement to a love that could, in no other way, be. But to be without it would be death; absent from purpose entirely. Give your whole life to something, put your soul in it. It will never love you back, but it's more precious than anything we could create. You're ... read more
i was admittedly quite afraid of what was going to be 'Terrified'. a 19-track fakemink album has equal the opportunity to be excellent or pretty bland (with that being said, i've listened to MOST of fakemink's discography and only found myself really disliking a handful of songs). i think it's reasonable to be hesitant yet also curious and hopeful for an artist like fakemink. his catchy, ear candy DIY production is hypnotizing underneath his oftentimes up-pitched voice. ... read more

thx 2 whitearmor and bladee for this awesome album! it's suuuuuper good guys!
i wrote a different review initially, but I want to take the time to highlight how good the track "If I Was a Folkstar" is. absolutely astonishing album. I first listened to this back in 2024, but felt mostly indifferent to pretty much the entire record. But something kept making me want to revisit it. To say the least, i'm exceedingly satisfied with my choice to come back to "Clube Da Esquina", because across its 1+ hour runtime lie some of the best songs ever written. Like, the first time I listened to this, I managed to overlook EVERY SINGLE SONG by Lô Borges. EVERY SINGLE SONG. If this album ... read more
pretty much stacked with amazing tracks from front to back!
less jazzy than i anticipated, which isn't a bad thing. second half is stacked with bangers. overall very enjoyable especially given its brevity.
long ago (approximately 5 or 6 months ago), i was recommended this album by somebody on AOTY. unfortunately, i have long forgotten exactly who it was. whoever they were, i want to thank them dearly as this album is straight heat. gotta dock off 8 points because the last song didn't hit quite as amazing as the first three. in line with the user scores, the title track is the best on the album; inarguably one of the greatest things to grace my ears. i hope that if I were never rec'd ... read more
