this couldve been much more promising if the sound palette from 'pixelated kisses' and 'sojourn' were more central to the album. honestly feels like some sort of leak compilation you'd find online. the highs are pretty solid however, some a little lacklustre - and a few certainly surpassing that of songs from 'smithereens' - but the hit to dud ratio for 21 tracks is a pain.
a few tracks i'm not crazy about, but this was a great listen. the "duds" don't stick out, probably one of his best packages yet.
yeah, i physically cannot rate this anything but a perfect score. absolutely unreal levels of talent on show; an immersive tale, silly yet sombre, and perhaps one of the most beautiful and addicting album experiences i've had so far this decade.
