Minecraft is one of the most popular games to ever be made, whether you think it's overrated or one of the best games ever is up to you. But I feel that we can agree that the soundtrack that accompanies the game is amazing. I know this is basically what everyone says about this project, but it is purely just nostalgic, it takes me back to simpler times in life. It's a very calming and soothing project, it's amazing for studying, or when you just want to relax and experience ... read more
The OG JACKBOYS is better than its sequel, it's still not that good at all. It doesn't feel like a collective project, it feels rushed and just overall not thought out entirely. It's entirely carried by Out West, the rest of the songs are either cool or just decent. There's no direction with this collective project at all. The production is alright, it's nothing too special in my opinion. The rapping performances are okay as well, it feels like the bare minimum in my ... read more
Kendrick spent the 5 year gap between this album and DAMN. focusing on his family, helping out with pgLang, but most importantly he underwent therapy. The reason why is packed into this album, which in itself feels like a therapy session. It's an extremely personal album that's divided into two discs, Disc 1 being "Big Steppers" and Disc 2 being "Mr. Morale". I'll get into what each of these discs mean and what they talk about in a bit. But overall this album ... read more
Kanye… happy birthday bro, but wtf is this πππ
"Nipples froze, are you cold?"
"I wanna get kinky, I think she will let me"
Frank's first single after Blonde is a perfect track. He blends his rapping ability with his singing ability, he's able to rap pretty well. It's very bittersweet knowing that he could genuinely be one of the best R&B artists ever (which he already is imo) if he continued to drop, but at the same time, I'd rather him not try to top Blonde as it feels like the perfect ending. The track sees Frank use his usual motif of Material vs. Existential, where he talks about both ... read more
Graduation is a great album, hot take I know. This is sonically Kanye's most happy and uplifting album. It completes the school trilogy that started with The College Dropout and Late Registration, this album is pretty noticeable shift from the previous albums. While his other albums were mostly rooted in Chipmunk Soul (this obviously still is) and Conscious Hip Hop, this album is more Electronic and Pop oriented, which makes it probably his most accessible album. It contains so many of ... read more
Call Me If You Get Lost is an album by Tyler, The Creator and it sees him give his best rapping performances in his career. This is a project that for me, can go toe to toe with IGOR. The production is very good, Tyler's performances are great, the writing is also very good as well. It's such an amazing album, it's also one of the best rap albums of this decade. This was very much needed after Igor, it in a way feels like a victory lap after the success that IGOR had. It's ... read more
Freddie delivers a pretty solid deluxe, it does feature 2 interludes and some songs that were already released. But Freddie delivers his usual great rapping performances over cool production with some great sampling. It's overall a pretty good deluxe that adds some great tracks.
Best: Nobody
Worst: Axxtion
Cherry Bomb is one of Tyler's most divisive albums, you either love it or hate it. I personally believe it to be underrated and one of Tyler's most important albums. Without this album, we most likely wouldn't have gotten IGOR, Flower Boy or any of his future albums. This is the last album that felt like truly old Tyler with the vulgar and controversial lyrics. It seems Tyler somewhat builds off the little bit of maturity shown in Wolf with this album. The album mostly contains ... read more
The song isn't good, I do think it's overhated. It's not a 15 user score bad, but it's only 45 ratings so far. Travis, I love you bro, but he didn't fit on this at all. He just didn't fit the Reggae vibe of the song and felt out of place. It can definitely be a nice vibe song I guess, but just not for me at all. I REFUSE TO BELIEVE TRAVIS FELL OFF
EDIT: nvm ts sucks ass
We've reached the endgame, THE Björk album, supposedly one of the greatest albums ever made, VESPERTINE. I was supposed to review this yesterday, but I forgot and got off track with some other stuff. But I'm finally listening to it and reviewing it.
This album simply put… is a beautiful piece of work. I heard Homogenic and thought it was amazing and wondered "how can it possibly get better than that?" I got my answer and it's so much better. This album had ... read more
After the disappointment that was EXPERIMENTAL RAP, I decided to relisten to my first Peggy album. I LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR YOU sees JPEGMAFIA build a genre bending album with great production. It's an eclectic album with influences from Punk, Metal, Industrial, and even a track with some Brazilian Funk elements. The production on this album is one of the best of 2024, the production is dynamic. Instead of it being purely abrasive, the album balances aggressive rap performances with lush, ... read more
I was supposed to review this album yesterday, but I couldn't get to it. So I got y'all today, as well as the review for VESPERTINE. I missed on a good amount of reviews yesterday, but it's good we'll get them today.
Testing by ASAP Rocky is an album most people consider to be Rocky's worst album. It's very evident from the first track of his album that this was gonna be a weird and experimental album for Rocky. The production is different from Rocky, the ... read more
Shout out to @jamesm_11 for promoting this album like crazy, make sure y'all check his review out whenever that is posted
Alright on with the review, Cry Baby is one of the best Hip Hop albums of this year so far. It was clear this was gonna be shift for Vince when he released the lead single, Blackberry Marmalade, which was primarily a punk/rap rock song. The other 2 singles were also rock inspired. This album trades traditional West Coast Hip Hop production for live instrumentation and ... read more
Hello, guess what? It's another re-review, I'm sorry for so many of these re-reviews, my thoughts on these albums have either changed or I wanna really get my thoughts on these albums out in a better way than I previously did. But let's get on with the review
Don't Be Dumb is an album that has grown on me a little bit, I'll still say it was pretty much worth the wait in a sense. He delivered a great album, maybe one of the best for Hip Hop this year. This album could ... read more
One of my favorites from Don't Be Dumb, I love the psychedelic rock feel that it has. Rocky works pretty well on the rock instrumentation, although it's an entirely different genre from Rocky, it still has the feel of a Rocky song with it being psychedelic and ethereal. It trades usual boastfulness of Rocky's music and turns it into an introspective track where he talks about vulnerability, heartbreak, and self reflection. I know y'all are probably tired of the re-reviews, ... read more
Toby, I mess with you, but this is not it at all. You gotta stop the disses, because I gotta be honest, they suck. The whole song sucks, if we're being honest. I'm not gonna glaze and be like this is hard because it's not, you're off beat, I can barely hear you, the beat itself is repetitive and boring. You gotta quit the whole acesquad beef, because this shit is pointless at this point. It's getting embarrassing for you, you have multiple people making fun of you, you ... read more
