Harry moved on from his Strokes impression and on with his LCD Soundsystem one! Ready, Steady, Go! only stood out because he used the Heads Will Roll base line. Aperture is very 'Sound of Silver' and I don't think Harry's style works particularly well with the clash of LCD Soundsystem. That being said I enjoyed, 'Taste back' and 'The Waiting Game'
Brilliant follow up to Ants from up there! They would never be able to match that album especially since Isaac Woods departure but this is very close. Great album and love the direction the band is going in
After losing all his money, Bruno Mars had to make an album. Production is really good but a lot of the songs feel very trite. On my soul was a high point of the album but I think I expected more from one of the most prolific people in pop
Not much of a departure from their last album, barely any of the songs are bad but none of them are exceptional. WOLFPIE is a nice mix of their American Spirits type songs and their newer Take 3 sound. Glad to hear them refine their sound though and very much enjoyed MADRE and PUSH
Was pleasantly surprised when Gorillaz announced this album and was pleasantly surprised listening to it too! Gorillaz best work since Plastic Beach, a deep and emotional album. Damon Albarns autotune can feel a little grating on certain songs but the production of the album is elite. Definitely worth a listen and glad to see Gorillaz back to their best.
9 year break and a return with a beautiful album. It definitely starts stronger than it finishes but most of the songs on here are great and can't complain!
Lovely soft relaxing album, the title track is one of my favourite songs I've heard in a while!
Great album by Geese, I listened to Getting Killed before 3D country but can hear the evolution of their music, can't wait to see where their next album goes! Going to have to listen to projector next!
Decent album, definitely has some stand out tracks and Goodbye Mr A will forever be a Fifa banger, worst case scenario, worried about ray, cops and robbers and killers are the highlights and a sadness runs through him is a beautiful song but where the highs are high the lows are low rounding it out to be a fair decent album
Produced by James Murphey and it shows! Great listen if you're looking for an LCD Soundsystem adjacent and this album has made me a fan of The Rapture, can't complain
Brilliant and possibly underrated follow up to Is This It. When the Strokes hit fame with their debut, the eyes were on them. Courtney Love told Julian that Is This It was their 'Bleach' and their next album as their 'Nevermind.' Not really a fair analogy from Courtney and Room On Fire is not better than Is This It or as creatively different as Nevermind is from Bleach, it continues the sound of Is This It perfectly while still stepping out and safely experimenting like the ... read more
Very melancholic album but great to listen to if you're in the right mood!
Holy shit, shame on me for not listening to this sooner! No skips album and definitely deserves it's high scores! Give it a listen if you haven't already
What is there to say about this album that hasn't already been said? The album that inspired genres and revived rock music, deserves all its flowers
Sounds a lot like Humbug but I'm happy that if I have to listen to Alex Turners drawn out singing it comes from a better time for Arctic Monkeys
Magdalena Bay are on a roll, not only put out one of the best albums of the last decade but follows it up a year later with no misses
So many great songs on here. Normal People has quickly become one of my favourite Arcade Fire songs! Afterlife and Reflektor have been in the rotation for so long and are great songs. Both Here Comes the Night Time songs are great too and We Exist is a brilliant track that perfectly captures the struggle of the LGBTQ+ community and Andrew Garfield being in the music video makes it so much better! Overall, a few forgettable songs but definitely some of Arcade Fires best work. Best to remember ... read more
