Beautiful melancholic album, great to listen to before bed. Best part about this album is the vocals, Cass Elliot has one of the best voices I've ever heard.
Very good album, heard a lot of mixed things last year when this album dropped but had a very good time listening to it. The 1st Dave album I've listened to back to front. Really well produced and great lyricism, what Dave is known for. Instrumentally could be better and more adventurous but overall not much wrong with it!
Very fun album, the highs (Golden Skans, Its Not Over, Gravitys Rainbow and Two Receivers) but the lows were also quite low. Rounded out to a very decent album thats very reminiscent of The Raptures early work
There's nothing really more to say about Abbey Road tbh, much preferred the 1st half of the album, still one of the best albums of all time, can't fault it
Very melancholy album, pretty decent and great production. Wasn't the biggest fan of the vocal performance but the lyricism was brilliant
Very weak start to the album. I do love how it flows between songs, the transitions are brilliant. Well produced and a very creative direction, takes the rawness of the chemical brothers and the beautifulness of aurora and blends it very well. The middle of the album is genuinely amazing apart from Have you seen me dance alone? Somewhere else and my baby are my favourites off the album and it lands quite well. I only checked this out because my mate loves the chemical brothers and I'm very ... read more
Great comeback album, hadn't listened to much Broken Social Scene beforehand, only one album but this album was really fun, a few songs that aren't as good as the high points but still good comeback album
Genuinely could be a good song without the autotune. The band sound unreal and I do think I'll get used to the autotune, doesn't give me masses of hope for the new album though. If I was gonna listen to this song to I'd just listen to the Julia Jacklin cover of Someday lol.
Edit: I don't think my opinion has swayed so much on a song before, I actually love the chorus now and the end, still think the song is too long and takes too long to get to the point and still hate the ... read more
Really fun album with bangers scattered all across it. Really didn't like Doin' It Right, but a great send off for one of the most legendary duos of all time
Song great vocals on here and nice twangy guitar parts
Thoroughly enjoyed this album, the melancholy feel to it is rarely matched. The 1:07 of silence at the end of the album was a bit strange. My favourite song on the album was the opening track but the quality of these songs were great and the production was much better than I expect for a band that has 16k monthly listeners. Their Goodbye Horses cover is flawless and Tomorrow is a 10/10 song too, dragged down a little by a few tracks and the silence at the end but overall great album. It's ... read more
Was already a fan of swingin party and bastards of young, decided to listen to the full album and it lived up to the rest, a few songs (Lay it down clown and Kiss me on the bus) stop this from being a 10/10
Had my doubts in the 1st half, only song that really stood out to me from the 1st 5 tracks was KC Accidental but after Pacific Theme the only song, besides the closing jam, that wasn't a 10/10 was bedroom rock for missionaries. Really enjoyable album, didn't expect to feel so much on the last part of it, brilliant album
Was excited when I heard she was gonna try rock music, this just isn't it, there's maybe 10 seconds of this song I like after you realise it isn't building to anything but this just isn't it. Her attitude works for her style of music, it doesn't work here
My mate put me onto this album and I thank him for the brilliant rec. So many of the songs sound ethereal and beautiful while still sounding grounded and just brilliant. 94 because there I wasn't feeling Beautiful feeling or Kamikaze as much as the rest of the album. Common Pitchfork L
Don't let this light go out is the only song on here I would consider listening to again. Even then that's a push. Brendan's vocal strain is apparent on this album and I think Viva Las Vengeance has the same or similar riff to Take It or Leave It by The Strokes except that's a good song
