while a good record, it feels like 21 is sticking to the same style hes been doing since the mid 2010s. very generic but catchy trap record that sounds like it couldve been made in 2017 released in 2024. despite these criticisms it still hits fucking hard
A little bit of everything on this record, somehow executed near-flawlessly despite a few dips in quality towards the middle of the project.
Scott's most successful exercise in creating a cohesive soundscape. Nothing feels out of place on this record.
Easily West's most introspective album and one that speaks deeply to his new role as a husband and father. Perfect music describing his volatile thoughts from front to back.
great debut, just wish some songs had a little more substance and he was able to truly define his own sound
beautiful. two stories in one surrounded in an envelope of haunting but awe-inducing atmosphere dominated by gliding synths, blaring guitars, soft drums, and yachty's absurd level of vebrato.
While not Kanye's best, this album has all the grandiosity of the album to proceed it, Watch The Throne, while still keeping many reminders of West's old style shown in the original trilogy. Some of the refrains on the back half of the album are mostly what keeps this from being in Kanye's top 3 personally.
A twisted, distorted, and often times off-putting take on what hip-hop can be. Structurally similar to The Life Of Pablo but with seemingly far more of an emphasis on his faith and late mother. Incredibly interesting and entertaining but held back by the sheer volume of songs on it.
