incredibly funky album. concept behind is a good satire on consumerism and the music industry but in a very kitsch, operetta-like, funky way unlike more earnest albums exploring the same themes.
Has brilliant funk throughout, definitely an eye opener. Starts and ends with strong bangers but also has that typical talking heads je ne sais quoi in there. Has grown on me massively and might be their best album.
Childhood favourite with perfectly transgressive lyrics and banger after banger
good funky elements and the signature staccato works really well here, the dipping into country just doesn't though
somehow perfected improvisation. does drag in certain areas but all worth it for moments like china cat sunflower
