Honestly a shame that nothing else Incubus has made sounds quite like this, because this album is seriously their best work by far. New Skin is seriously a contender for my favorite songs of all time, it really is just the peak of Nu-metal

Fast, unrelenting, and very catchy. While not quite as good as SOAD’s first two albums, Mesmerize is still a fantastic album with some of the band’s greatest peaks (B.Y.O.B is the best song of all time no contest).

It says a lot about how good SOAD is that my least favorite album of theirs is still pretty great. A lot of my criticism towards the songs mostly just boils down to “this is a good song, but if it was a bit longer and more developed it could’ve been fantastic.” The shorter tracks can feel a bit like filler and repetitive, but none of them are necessarily bad at all.
