Honestly a shame that nothing else Incubus has made sounds quite like this, because this album is seriously their best work by far. New Skin is seriously a contender for my favorite songs of all time, it really is just the peak of Nu-metal

I mean sonically it’s sounds pretty good, but I couldn’t get interested in it for the life of me. The vocal’s definitely don’t help either

Fast, unrelenting, and very catchy. While not quite as good as SOAD’s first two albums, Mesmerize is still a fantastic album with some of the band’s greatest peaks (B.Y.O.B is the best song of all time no contest).

It says a lot about how good SOAD is that my least favorite album of theirs is still pretty great. A lot of my criticism towards the songs mostly just boils down to “this is a good song, but if it was a bit longer and more developed it could’ve been fantastic.” The shorter tracks can feel a bit like filler and repetitive, but none of them are necessarily bad at all. Perfect in almost every way, with even the weakest songs being some of SOAD’s best. It takes the rawness of their debut album and refines it with beautiful harmonies, flawless production, and masterful genre mixing that allows it to hit even harder.

Absolutely incredible all the way through. Almost every song on here is so raw and insane that the overall sound is unlike any album I’ve heard, even among SOAD’s own discography.
