This is lackluster and repetitive like I didn't have expectations but it still let me down.
my first full mitski album!!!
I've been so busy I completely forgot it was friday but I'm so hyped for this album especially 'I'll change for you' being my SOTY. This album sounds completely different from the singles it, the sound more folk, singer/songwriter adjacent with a dark undertone. 'Dead women' being a highlight just for it's eeriness I'm a fein for the strings. 'Instead of here' literally punched me in the gut both with ... read more
why are people complaining her vocals they're good. Anyway this album is whimsy reincarnate so I'm surprised I didn't like this as much as I should. The production on this album really let me down like I wish it was more in your face. Her vocals are so unique I wanted the production to fit that unfortunately it sounds pretty lacklustre. Now the positives the melodies are so catchy and fun, her vocals, I'm actually in-love with and the lyrics fit the whimsy nature of the ... read more
While I like the idea for this album it just feels under-cooked like if this was a collection of demos it would work a lot better
thanks @congrammy for the recommendation
this is super chill I like it a lot
thank you @Infinera for the recommendation
when I saw the score and amount of ratings for this album I was definitely intrigued. Now being honest I went into this album in a sensitive mood and there's nothing I can say but this hit hard. I had this blasting so loud I started to form a headache proof that this is some of the most insane noise rock I've heard. 'Seraphim III' was crazy that it had elements of drill near the end I was wondering if the noise was from a head ... read more

with this many genres I'm so excited for it
sorry I've been so behind on recs with school starting up again but I'm finally ready to dive into this album
I think I've listened to sweet charity about 20 times it's so addicting, funky and almost a rock opera with a touch of jazziness. The ad-libs after sweet charity in the chorus are so funny to me that I ended up liking the quirkiness. Now if we're talking about ... read more
PEAK IS BACK
this was a pretty good tune, nice groove but i wish there was more too it. I am genuinely so excited for this album though
NAHHH these genres about to fuck me up
I was not wrong I LOVE YOU CHAMBER POP
the added two songs are nice but they didn't blow me away. What did though was the 3 ambient tracks cause oh my goodness they are so stunning and beautifully encapsulates the comfort of the original album
thank you @Cramberri for the recommendation!!!!
what an album.. Trip-hop as a genre I don't know much about only that it's a sub-genre of electronic music and my dad loves it. Now that I've heard it I can for sure say that it fits right in with a gritty crime show. I don't know if all trip-hop has a post-industrial sound but if does it may become a favourite genre for me.
Talking about the actual album I'm personally a lover of bugs so this is a peak cover in my ... read more
after hearing the single I was so excited for this album to drop, man it is gorgeous and my aoty so far. I heavily recommend this album if you like chamber pop cause I believe it deserves so much more attention. The only flaw for me is sometimes the singing sounds obnoxious
listening to my grandparents records pt 6
This series is back I was on holiday a lot the past couple weeks but I'm finally back home and ready to jump back into listening to these albums. Whitney is definitely one of my favourite vocalists of the 80s and she really shines on this record. This album could just be vocals and I'd love it. Not saying that the production is boring, it just blends in so naturally to her vocals it feels like an extension of them. I actually like the slower ... read more
thank you @Cramberri once again for the recommendation :)
I don't care what anyone says I love this cover It's so campy reminds me of brats. Gothic rock is all that I need in life and this fits the bill. I don't know what the critics were smoking because this is phenomenal. Lowkey this is what I hoped poppy's music sounded like. I love the heavy instrumentals chugging along as it kinds of lifts up to spotlight their vocals which now mentioning them, are insane like being ... read more
