Yeah, it's just another Lil B album with not much differentiating it from others, but this is definitely one of the better ones like this. With really good flows and great production, there's not much to dislike here. It isn't a favourite of mine, but it's definitely a good one.
Lil B actually gets semi-serious, tries to show everyone that he's just as good as 2Pac, and ultimately makes one of his most impressive efforts. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that the run time is actually justifiable, or that the track listing is consistent as fuck, but this is definitely one of my favourites from him now. It just goes to show that if he trimmed the fat out of all of his albums and actually put some effort into the lyrics then he can make something that people ... read more
Yeah, I'm definitely in the minority for this, but The Silent President doesn't impress me as much as I was hoping. A lot of people seem to see this as one of Lil B's best mixtapes, and while I can definitely understand why, it's just too similar to everything else he's done. It has good production, good performances, and is one of the few Lil B albums that is actually a good size, being only 46 minutes, but it just left me underwhelmed, I guess.
Black Flame is just a forgettable album. There's so little that I actually genuinely like here, and instead there's a lot of tracks that I don't dislike but don't do anything for me either. At this point all of these albums sound so similar that it's difficult to say if albums like this one were even worth putting out there. Just listen to any number of B's other albums and you'd likely have a much better time.
A pretty big mixed bag. I feel like there are quite a few tracks on here that are really good, but simultaneously there are quite a few tracks that I would rather not listen to again. The result is an okay album that I doubt many people with have too many qualms with, but it really isn't too memorable in B's discography.
A batch of some of Lil B's most uninspired and inessential tracks yet. There's literally no reason to listen to this album unless you're a diehard Lil B fan, because there's very little of note here. No standouts or even much of quality, just your average BasedGod shit.
It's... decent, I guess. I really wouldn't say I loved this album, but it definitely has some good cuts. I feel like this is one of the more forgettable albums in the Flame series, with not too many stand-out tracks, but it is a fairly enjoyable album nevertheless. Not a great Lil B record, but a good listen for any BasedGod fan.
The Godfather Part 2 of cloud rap. It isn't quite as good as the original, but it's still a damn great experience nonetheless. Personally, it isn't my favourite, but I still like it a hell of a lot.
This is now one of my favourite Lil B mixtapes. I guess in the grand scheme of things it isn't that special, but #1 Bitch is full of so many bangers that I can't help but love it. B's lyrics and performances aren't necessarily anything exciting, but the production is definitely what makes this album. From the samples to the beats to the overall sound, this album is one of the only ones from him that genuinely sounds like more thought went into making it sound good than what went into the ... read more
Short and sweet mixtape, easily one of Lil B's most consistent projects ever. Twelve tracks, all of which are incredibly enjoyable. Only thing is just that it's a bit forgettable. It's still one of the most underappreciated and downright underrated projects in his discography, though.
This is Lil B at his best. The beautiful production and genuinely impressive flows really make this one of the most entertaining, memorable, and worthwhile mixtapes that I've heard from him. Definitely one of my favourites from him.
Pretty fucking meh, dude. This album is just such a snoozefest. Unlike the rest of the Flame albums that I've heard, it just doesn't have much in terms of quality. I'm sure that if you're a diehard Lil B fan then you'll like this more than me, but as someone who only enjoys a handful of his projects, I found this to be far too redundant and boring and not at all worthy of its 85 minute run time.
This is definitely my favourite Lil B album at the moment. This is the only album I've heard from him where I actually like everything in the track listing. This is the only album where it never once stammers in its quality. This album is 90 minutes, but it doesn't feel any longer than some of his shorter 20-30 minute mixtapes.
One of B's most memed albums, and honestly it's quite boring. I can understand people enjoying it ironically, but it's just such a tiresome listen. Obviously he has much worse stuff in his vast discography, but this is definitely one that I doubt I'll ever return to.
Who would have guessed I would enjoy an album that is actually the length of a normal album? This is another album that I feel doesn't get enough credit. Sure, it's not some of B's best songs, but I Forgive You is a collection of some damn good ones. I'm sure that to some these are some of his more redundant and mundane songs, songs that most would prefer to skip over, but I really enjoyed this. I assume most of my enjoyment came from the fact that it's the first album I've heard today that ... read more
Yeah, this was the only album in the 855 Song Based Freestyle series that was actually worth the listen. While it's not my favourite in the series (that would be Vol. 2), it's definitely the easiest to get into seeing as it's only 80 minutes where every other album is over 5.5 hours. While I don't really think any album in this series was worth listening to, if you're a fan of Lil B and are wondering if you would like these albums, start with this one as it is a digestible size and is a pretty ... read more
I'm pretty sure this is the last majorly long Lil B album I need to listen to, so thank fuck that's over with. Honestly, I didn't hate this quite as much as I hated some of the others in this series, but it's still pretty fucking bad. Again, it's too fucking long, and there's absolutely no justifying that. Also, the freestyling is absolutely awful and the beats are completely unoriginal and dull. But at least I got some enjoyment out of this one, unlike the previous one.
Yeah, I have another hot take when it comes to Lil B. I just don't care for this album. It's another one that far overstays its welcome, but in general it's at least somewhat enjoyable. There are a few songs on here that I genuinely don't like, but a good handful of tracks that I did enjoy. I honestly just think I'm tired of all these long albums.
Absolutely based. Not many people seem to like this one, but I like it a lot. Sure, it's not B at his best, the beats seem like budget MF Doom and it's clear that he can't freestyle well at this point in his career, but it's at least fun, which isn't something that a lot of his albums can say. It's clear that Lil B himself didn't take this project as seriously as some others at the time, and if you don't look at this in the same light as Blue Flame or 6 Kiss then you should have fun with it.
