As if Knocked Loose and Denzel couldn't get any better. Holy shit, this single is amazing, I've been big fans of these two for a while now. This is very different for Knocked Loose and of course, they nailed the fuck out of this one. Denzel has always been on rougher tracks and has done his own sort of metal tracks before, but something about Knocked Loose and their more fast paced music enhances Denzel more. This song is amazing, one of the best I've heard from either of these ... read more
Life Starts Now by Three Days Grace is definitely their more generic sounding album, but overall I still found the experience enjoyable. The last stretch of the album kind of blurs a little for me because of how much everything sounded samey, but the first half I think is where this album shines the most. As always, the vocals, instrumentals, and lyrics are still high up there. I even believe the vocal performances by Adam on this album are his best so far that I've heard on these albums. ... read more
One-X by Three Days Grace is an almost perfect rock album to me. I absolutely love the instrumentals and the vocal performance by Adam. This album really is a good overall representation of mental health and the struggles that people face with said mental health. It can definitely be edgy and over the top sometimes, but I believe it gives it a charm and doesn't work against the album. Minus one song, there wasn't any song that I really disliked. Great album overall.
The self titled album by Three Days Grace is an overall good introduction to the band. It settles you in on what you expect from the band. Heavy instrumentals with equally heavy vocal performances about emotional topics with intruiging lyrics. I overall found this album to be very enjoyable. While I would have left a couple of songs off maybe, I still found this album to be enjoyable and anyone who is a rock or metal fan should listen to this album.
Dark Before Dawn by Breaking Benjamin is their most middle of the road album. It is a very good sounding album with lots of great vocals, instrumentals, and lyrics. However, it isn't the most impressive they have done. I found this album a little samey at moments, but since it still sounded good. It never really took much away from me. Overall, I wish there was more uniqueness to it, but I still found it to be enjoyable.
Dear Agont by Breaking Benjamin so far is my favorite album by them. I love the heavier themes of the album, the desperate sounding vocals, and the intense intrumentals. This album felt like the first album, but even better in every regard. I really cannot wait to end this ride of Breaking Benjamin with their last album that I need to review.
Phobia by Breaking Benjamin was kind of small let down. I went into this thinking it was going to be the best by them like everyone else and I came out with just an overall good album, but nothing mindblowing. Some of my favorite Breaking Benjamin songs are on here, but overall, I feel as if everything else is kinda just filler. Ben's performance is still amazing, instrumentals are still on point, everything is still good, but I still feel like something was missing overall. Good album, ... read more
One of the most nostalgic songs ever created. Blow Me Away by Breaking Benjamin encapsulates the best part of the 2000s rock genre. Strong vocal performance, heavy instrumentals, and also a mellodic side to it. Not much to say other than that I think this is one of the best rock songs ever created and of course I have to mention how badass this fits onto the Halo 2 soundtrack.
We Are Not Alone by Breaking Benjamin is once again a great album. This more mellower sounding album was definitely not what I expected after Saturate, but it kept the album routine fresh. While, I think Saturate is a better album, both of these albums excel at what they're trying to convey. Ben's vocals are still terrific and have definitely improved since the first album and the production is still just as a good. Overall, this was a great listen, can't wait to hear more.
Breaking Benjamin's first album is a solid album overall. Great tracks, amazing vocals, great instrumentals. It is one of the best 2000 rock albums that I've heard and it still stands to time. It makes perfect sense to me now why Breaking Benjamin became as popular as they are now. I hope that the rest of their discography is as great as this album.
Curtain Call by Eminem is a greatest hits collection of his best work from 1999 - 2004, with additonal songs. Overall, this is a great compliation. While, there are definitely some questionable picks (looking at you FACK). Overall, this is a great presentation of Eminem's career up until 2005 and really define his overall golden era. Since I can't rate the songs normally since this is a compilation album, below are my ratings:
Intro: 6/10 (Made me chuckle some)
FACK: 0/10 (Less said ... read more
I have no idea how to really feel about it. I don't hate it, but it just feels like such an odd song for Logic to make. It's a pretty big song of his, being more introspective, but I expected this song to be more hype or intense, but it was oddly calm for a song called, "Bad Motherfucker." It was alright, I suppose.
Imperal by Denzel Curry is a fantastic display of Denzel's writing and rapping ability. Most songs on this album are some of his best songs he has ever made. With great features, flows, beats, etc, this album is a classic and should definitely be listened to once.
Growing up, I loved this movie. I thought it was the best movie ever and I also listened to this album a lot too. I recently revisited this album and it still holds up to me to this day. Eminem in particular is so hungry and vicious with his lyrics on this album, you can taste the hunger and determination to make it in rap, I love it. Every other song on here is also amazing and I love the overall concept and feeling.
Year of the Snitch by Death Grips is a weird album. I think it has some of their strongest songs to date, but some of their worst songs as well. Overall, I did enjoy the album and I enjoyed how it went a completely different route it seemed by the more weird sounding tracks than loud and abrasive like I'm used to from Death Grips. Some of the songs however fell in a category of too weird to be enjoyable for me and I also think two instrumental sections is a bit much for a 13 track album. ... read more
This was a fantastic single. I don't understand why they left this song off of the album, it's one of the strongest new songs that the band has done since Emily has joined. I enjoyed everything and I found the song to capture a certain feeling inside that I hadn't really felt from most of the other newer songs. Really enjoyed this one, can't wait for the deluxe.
No Love Deep Web by Death Grips has to be their most rawest and chaotic album as I review their catalog. The primal and intense sounding vocals from Ride really capture the insanity that this album goes for. The minimalist beats also add a lot of ambience to Ride when he is just going off about whatever it is. I really did love this album and I highly recommend it.
One meh verse with most of the song being Sexy Redd, this sucked.
Same reguritated shit from the last diss track with a worse beat and worse lyrics, not worth your time at all.
