I’ve truly come around on this record. It’s melancholic, pure with raw emotion. I’ve grown to appreciate the combination of Screamo and twee pop. It’s endearing, and true to itself, but if Tyler was to work with a producer the beauty of the album could have been brought a bit more.
Actually never mind this album is perfect.
The 100 might just be a placeholder for now. I’ve listened to this album twice today and have truly been enamored with both listened, to the point where I find it reasonable to give a 100. Its songwriting is so incredible, combined with great production and vocals, this is truly a must listen for anybody into hardcore/emo.
Edit: The snare on Sleepwalk Capsules sounds terrible ðŸ˜
Otherwise, still a classic album
A synth pop album from depths of despair. In getting rid of the noisier elements of Dogsbody, the album is felt by the lyrics of the album. Cole Haden on multiple songs opens up about how he felt he was pressured to cave to social pressures instead of embracing his queerness. On the song, Cinderella we get the first revealing moment as Cole exclaims that at 5 he wanted to have a Cinderella themed birthday party, but because of fear of judgement he didn’t make that desire known to others. ... read more
An artist I’ve been familiar with for some time, her record, favorite, was at one point in heavy rotation for me, but have forgot about her, until i saw that she had released her debut album. There are some songs that feel a bit cold, lacking the punch that the highlights of the album have. I do think she does a decent job at varying the album stylistically, but there are very ... read more
I truly would rate this album higher, but it has such a weak ending with tracks 10 and 11, after bangers pretty much front to back, to have the album almost derailed by the last two songs was disappointing.
Nardo Wick’s sound is so one-note, you could not tell me the difference between the mixtape and this album, except the album is maybe worse. Not that I really expected much of a difference in sound from the mixtape, he just has shown nothing here that I wouldn’t just go to his mixtape for.
My biggest gripe with this album, is the beats are such a step down that it confuses me.
The rating on this should be much higher, truly marvelous acoustic ballads of some of the best songs from her last album. I'm hooked. Also, the Spiritbox cover inclusion was quite amazing.
A truly unmistakeable voice. I totally didn’t recognize the name until i hit play and remembered that he did vocals on Doves by Armand Hammer. Dense, lush production also by Kenny, truly a beat wizard.
