The key to 90125's success was Trevor Horn's very slick and textured production which in turn exaggerated Trevor Rabin's straightforward AOR-leaning contributions. It was as big and shiny as any Journey or Foreigner in 1983 but with enough substance and intrigue in the dense sonic landscape, the exteremely capable playing and some of Jon Anderson's lyrical contributions that elevate it beyond forgettable arena rock garbage.

Of the 8 song tracklist, 5 are major lyrical and tonal masterpieces in the Cohen catalogue for me but Take This Waltz and I Can't Forget are still very solid and even the dated Jazz Police is at least an amusing misfire. Probably my favourite Leonard Cohen album, I love his cheap synth era and I definitely return to this and The Future more than anything else in his discography.
