After listening to it multiple times throughout the years, it’s safe to say that “The Glow, Pt. 2” is my favorite album of all time. Now I think it’s time to do it justice and try to give it the review that it deserves.
The album starts off with “I Want Wind to Blow,” which, like the next few tracks, is a fan favorite. This song starts with a beating kick drum and Phil Elverum’s signature multiple takes of guitars layered on top of each other. Then ... read more
This album is like a compilation of little poems turned into songs. Each track is very simple, definitely nothing as grand as some of his other projects, but it works very well. Some of my favorite songwriting I've ever heard is on many of these songs. "Moon Sequel", "I Say 'No'", and "A Show of Hands" are some of my favorites. There are multiple points in this album that disturb me but that still takes the top spot.
This is also the longest album I've ... read more
