The main issue with this album stems purely from my personal taste in music.

And that issue is how clean the production sounds. It just sounds so crystal clear which can be great for some acts but in this case, it makes a lot of the songs sound so flat to me. Along with that I feel some of the songs sound kind of overdone or too similar to other tracks for my liking. There are so many really incredible aspects of this album - One that sticks out to me being the soundscaping across all the songs, which has always been a very strong point in all of Avey Tare's work. This band always stuck out to me as something special. The Apples in Stereo are apart of the Elephant 6 "collective", a group of bands formed around Athens, GA. Some examples are Of Montreal, The Olivia Tremor Control and the most well known, Neutral Milk Hotel. All these bands are connected and somewhat overlap.
