Logic - The Incredible True Story
NR

Calling this the album "that changed everything" might be feigning a little braggadocio, but it certainly was when you could feel Logic coming into his skin and making a respectable name for himself in the music industry. Moreover, this album unapologetically embraces Logic personality through his fairly inspired (yet still true-to-the-heart) sci-fi story, underscoring his love for the genre and headlining Logic's personal passions and inspirations outside of rap (which is definitely ... read more

Logic - Under Pressure
NR

While not my gateway into Logic (although probably the firestarter for my interest in Rap), it definitely helped solidify my love for him, despite that this is his entry into the big leagues. And as that, I think it's a respectable effort despite his music owing much to his influences and his "corny" yet true-to-himself lyricism. Perhaps more enticing and contagious than his musical persona is the man behind the board himself: that super-nerdy dude wanting to tell his story through ... read more

Kanye West - Donda
NR

At first, it was confusion. Then it was intrigue. Then growth. Now borderline obsession. The album is a perfect example of what happens when I give an album a fair chance and revisit it more than once. Excepting the sheer intimidating track-list, almost every track has something to love production-wise or lyrically imo.

Phoebe Bridgers - Punisher
NR

I'm not particularly multi-versed in different musical genres, mainly sticking to your typical pop song with more in-depth love for some artists here and there. indie music (and all its sub-genres) are one of these virgin grounds for me when it comes to my musical tastes: never could get into it's simplistic style and sound, save for some Bon Iver, admittedly. But then after listening to this LP, which I was highly recommended to me by my friends who've a far more diverse palette than myself, ... read more

The 1975 - Notes On A Conditional Form
NR

Discussing a work of The 1975’s has never been so straightforward while also being impressively new. To put a bow on it, Notes On A Conditional Form is The 1975’s reflection (and product) of themselves—their musical inspirations and roots, Matty’s psychological journey, and the band’s ever-strong friendship outside of music. Notes is the continuation (and conclusion) of their two-album series dubbed the “Music For Cars” era, during which time ... read more

*NSYNC - *NSYNC
NR

Honestly, this is the first pop album I obsessed over, listening to it on repeat for many nights straight as a tween. As cheesy as the tracks are (which is expected), the album isn't poorly written and musically a great time I'd never turned down. As a pioneer for my love of pop music, this album is a great introduction to 90s pop, or just the genre at large.

twenty one pilots - Trench
NR

Perhaps the magnum opus of Tyler's manifestations of his troubled psyche, this fully-realized world he's created leaves me beyond excited (musically and lyrically) of future stories he'll tell through music and lyricism. The vivid storytelling he gives us from the first track to the final continues to prove the exceptional creativity and passion Tyler pours into expressing himself, even if the reoccurring themes of mental health, religion, etc. are harped on, coming off the heels of Blurryface ... read more

twenty one pilots - Level of Concern
80

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic during which it was released, Level of Concern serves as an encouraging single in the form of a groovy, tap-your-toes tune reminiscent of Trench's "Legend", providing its audience with a lighthearted and timely bop we all should dance to to shake off the stress the pandemic has inspired in many of us. Its lyrics being so on the nose adds to the uplifting, grin-inducing vibe the tracks gives off, and I feel it very welcomed.

twenty one pilots - Vessel
NR

Vessel seems to be a continuation of Tyler Joseph’s debut album by way of expressing his troubled thoughts towards religion, self-worth, and self-purpose; this third studio album homes in on the latter two themes, though. The twelve-track experience paints Tyler’s troubling thoughts vividly, providing a not-so-categorical though honest intrapersonal commentary on mental health, the ever-present journey of looking within ourselves to find our own truths, and other matters elemental ... read more
