Earl Sweatshirt - FEET OF CLAY
85

I’ve played 4N like 20 times in the last week. How tf is it rated 64?

Cropscropscrops - We've Been After Each Other

Pls listen to their more recent single called ‘Rivers’, almost perfect track 👌

E L U C I D - I Guess U Had To Be There
83

Feels like a match made for this heaven. E L U C I D s performances aren’t as Incredibly thought provoking, higher focus on rhymes, feels more like a collab mixtape than an E L U C I D album in that way but there’s nothing really wrong with that. That Estee Nack feature tho holy sh’t 🔥. The beat for Cantata too 🔥 want to see Sebb Bash make bigger bounds.

Boldy James - Manhunt
59

I wish we’d stop calling projects less than 20 minutes an LP. Boldy was gifted him carrying, Cheat the Grind by far best track.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Electric Ladyland
100

2nd best album of all time. Voodoo Chile is the best song of all time. If I’m not listening to hip hop, I’m probably listening to this.

Mach-Hommy - Pray For Haiti
96

This has well and truly grown on me. Been coming back a lot recently. Incredibly organic, abstract production melts your ears. Mach is underrated in the rap department, defo top 10. Murder Czn, Magnum Band and Au Revoir, very underrated tracks. Best track is Folie Á Deux.

R.A.P. Ferreira - Purple Moonlight Pages
91

Might be the most purely human album you’ll ever hear. R.A.P Ferreira chooses lyrics and knowledge display as priority, however because of this, he finds flows that you would never have heard from any “rapper” but only from a poet. The Jefferson Park Boys did a fantastic job of creating some beautiful rhythmic beats that would be great on their own, but they also keep Ferreira the front foot and the main focus of the project. Long Live Rhythm & Poetry as “rap” ... read more

Monzack - Lights Under A Shed
74

Nice package of smooth, well mixed jazzy tracks that are perfect for a sunset drive. Cheers @oneword1 for rec

Blu - God Takes Care Of Babies & Fools
81

One of the most underrated projects of the year. Blu provides some of his best performances and Myka 9, although at times a little too subtle, adds to the definition of this album. The production that Mono En Stereo provides makes an unconventionally positive and enjoyable listen.

safetravelz - TIME IS A THIEF

Shoutout to zane, no artist should have to go through this.

Cities Aviv - The Revolving Star : Archive & Practice 002
82

So much material here that could’ve possibly turned into his best project to date… possibly. But then again he has one of the best discographies in recent rap history and it’s gonna be difficult to top a MAN PLAYS THE HORN or something of his around that time. I don’t blame him too much for just wanting to put a bunch of shit out and it’s still a great listen nonetheless. One of his most atmospheric releases.

$ilkMoney - WHO WATERS THE WILTING GIVING TREE ONCE THE LEAVES DRY UP AND FRUITS NO LONGER BEAR?
90

$ILKMONEY IS ONE OF THE ONLY RAPPERS TO ME AT LEAST THAT IS GOING IN HIS OWN LANE IN ABSTRACT WORLD, THE WAY HE GOES BOUT HIS PRODUCTION AND HIS WRITING AND DELIVERY IS THE MOST INTERESTING IN HIP-HOP CURRENTLY, WE SNUCK THE HAMMER IN THE TUNNEL AND DIN EEN NEED TO MIGHT BE THE HARDEST TRACK OF THE YEAH AND PNEUMONOULTRAMICROSCPOPIC(NOBODY)SILICOVOLCANOBONIOSIS IS A PERFECT INTRO. IF YOU HAVENT LISTENED TO THIS YET THEN PLS DO!

Earl Sweatshirt - Live Laugh Love
86

Earl’s best work since Some Rap Songs sees himself finding peace in focusing on being a family man. This album definitely feels like Earl is sitting back as he’s writing these tracks, looking at his world as he finally feels that he is where he deserves to be.

Mac Miller - Balloonerism
93

The fact he made this around the same time of faces is incredible but also shows how hard times create great art. Respect to Mac’s label. R.I.P legend ❤️

Armand Hammer - Mercy
69

A mixed bag of classic, solid Al beats with some solid rapping from both that can’t go wrong, but then some experiments gone horribly wrong. It’s alright

Gang Starr - Moment of Truth

Guru so under appreciated. Almost no skips.

Madvillain - Madvillainy

It’s crazy to think that Madlib went off hip-hop at some point. No one rhymes like DOOM.

"They execute their verses perfectly and ur right it’s such a chill vibe. Yes it’s probably the mixing that gives people bad tastes but any Earl x Mach track is 100 no matter what imo"
