This is unquestionably his best scoring work for a Studio Ghibli movie for sure. Fitting for Hayao Miyazaki's cinematic magnum opus.
A lot of people here seem to forget that in order to fully appreciate the quality of a movie score, you should experience it along with the movie instead of just listening to the soundtrack. Purple Rain is so good everyone slept on this one, but don't let that fool you. This album is magnificent.
Also, Raspberry Beret might be my favorite song ever.
