Really cool project! I can sense a heavy influence from Westside Gunn's work while he still keeps his own world. However, I would say that what this album lacks the most is diversity. The samples and beats are really good, but they are way too repetitive...
Pleasant find! There is awesome work and knowledge sample-wise, but the lyrics can lack a bit in return.
Having seen him in concert, it was only a matter of days before I listened to this album, which is, in my opinion, way better than his past project. The production, melodies, flow, and lyrics; everything improved to new heights! I really like to know that (at least in the French scene) Bossa Nova is in great shape and in good hands.
Dope project!
I love hidden gems! That's a really cool project that makes you feel like you're a part of it, which is really nice. Maybe there isn't enough diversity tho? I am, however, really waiting for the next chapters!!
Persona meets Zelda: Skyward Sword... OH MY GOD, THIS ALBUM IS ABSOLUTELY INSANE, WHAT????
Easiest 10/10 of my life. Everything is phenomenal, from the voice to the effects added to it, to the melody being absolutely mesmerizing... One artist that you might enjoy and that is very near that style is Seraphine Noir.
The blend of cinematic orchestration with those lush vocal effects builds an immersive, majestic atmosphere that feels like a full-scale adventure. The sweeping melodies have a ... read more
AAAAAH ! There is some improvements, it's not there yet but it's really better !
Going back in time on Slayr's library, I find myself quite bummed out because in this mixtape (for the moment), you can feel that Slayr hasn't found his style yet and that he is missing a LOT of the energy he puts out in Half Blood / Deluxe. Still good, but not as amazing as his newer releases!!
What a voice, but also, what an album! I don't quite get how Spinetta isn't more popular even as of right now. This album is the perfect example of how someone can be so creative even though he is restricted by the means (produced in 1977, which didn't have a lot of today's technology), and yet he produces an album with sounds I've never heard before. Spinetta is truly becoming one of my favorite artists ever.
You like Berlioz? Well, you're in luck! That album really has its own thing, but it also has that heavy Berlioz influence. It's cool, it's chill, it's a big yes!!
It is crazy how Slayr channels that energetic prime era rap energy into one cohesive project. Hearing him ride the beat with that Carti-esque flow gives the whole thing atmosphere that hits differently. The production is incredibly dynamic and visceral. Instead of relying on the same predictable drum patterns, the beats are fractured and experimental' giving the project a hypnotic pull that keeps you locked in.
Shoegaze is really a nice genre !! Really dreamy and made for when you just want your mind to wander far away, really a nice project !!
I HAD SO MUCH HOPE AFTER SAD METAL, WTF IS THIS?????
Mad Metal made me so scared of what to expect next, but this is the final blow... We just have to admit that he was a one EP wonder in his rock era. To be honest, "Memories Unfair" is saving the EP, but it's just a copy-paste from Sad Metal, which doesn't help a lot. It's just one big mess with, once again, a blind eye toward the production of the EP.
JAPANESE REGGAE??? That's quite an original choice of genre, but that's not a bad thing at all!! There is a really strong start to the album; however, once you get to the middle of the album, it starts to get a bit boring because the same song pattern is being used. The songs are maybe too long and repetitive, which kills the vibe a bit? Still a great group/album to discover!
HOW CAN A DELUXE BE SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE NORMAL ONE DAMNNNNN. THAT'S THE RAGE I WAS ALWAYS LOOKING FOR !!!!!!!!!!
MY NAME IS CURRY JOE!!!
I actually got very scared at the beginning of the album, but I ended up being impressed by Slayr's versatility. The rap parts are amazing; the more rock-oriented ones are even better. Slayr really has that "old Carti" in modern times type of flow, which I really enjoy. Really a great discovery and a solid album!!
