Afterlife Slave - THE LIGHT WILL NEVER FIND ME

Oh my god I just love atmospheric drum n bass...
This album is the perfect example of the more the layer in drum n bass, the better the final product is. It's so deep, every track is so different even tho this genre is full of music sounding the same. Amazing project!!

Actual hidden gem! Holy pull from AOTY..! This album is what a mix of Kendrick Lamar, MIKE, and the creativity of JID's samples would sound like. It's absolutely amazing; it's raw, it's powerful, and the beats are hard-hitting. Nah, this shit is FIRE!! This project has that ghostly feeling of the underground, but the flows are so unhinged that it doesn't just feel like a stale lo-fi rap project. It’s so refreshing to find someone who isn't playing into that ... read more

Amazing album; great recommendation from my mom! This album is a very hard-hitter with those heavy themes such as heartbreak, abuse, etc. I cannot fully relate since this album is more focused on the female experience; however, I find it really good at conveying how it feels. The album has an amazing common thread from beginning to end.

You can really see how she is the "blueprint" for artists like Mitski or even Adrianne Lenker. It’s that same raw energy where she isn't ... read more

It is what would embody perfectly the "older brother" core that everyone has been talking about lately; however, it's not as amazing as I thought it would be. In my opinion, 'Everlong' is the easiest 10/10 ever, and it easily gives 4 more points to the album. But the rest? It's good, but it gets repetitive really fast and you get bored, which is why "Everlong" occupies such an amazing place on the album, being so close to the end.

I think that if you had to describe to someone what a trip on drugs would sound like, this is a good attempt at it.

Mario Judah - Mad Metal

Oh...
Having just finished my episode about him (on my magnificent channel Reps&Records on Insta and TikTok) and Sad Metal (which is a banger of an EP), I actually forgot he released a second EP... And boy, oh boy, I don't think this is the right type of music for you, Mario Judah...

Ty @_Sebax and @Abstasix for the recommendation!
I feel like this album is what Radiohead could have sounded like in an alternate universe, in the best way possible. Those psychedelic guitar riffs, that pain in the voice, and that dreamy atmosphere make it a really good album to listen to!!!
The strings on tracks like "Elephant Woman" or "Misery Is a Butterfly" make the whole thing feel like a dark fairytale. That pain in the voice is what makes this album feel so human, ... read more

Jessie Ware - Superbloom

A really good mix of what's good in disco-pop and everything in between (once again, a good recommendation from AOTY). Maybe I feel like she's doing too much at times, which, in my opinion, kills the vibe of the rest of the album a bit. But otherwise, it's a really pleasant album to listen to!

drug bug - Hell for a Basement

WHAT THE FUCK MUSIC MAN ??? I thought I would get something similar to secret admirer but not at all... Instead I got hit with the melodies of discord and unmatchable pain... However it was an amazing album, really more in the Vacations, Adrianne Lenker type but amazing still !
I was expecting more of those "solary" guitar riffs, but Drug Bug really went into the basement for this one. It’s got that dark, ghostly way, sort of like Big Thief where the vocals feel like ... read more

If you're a fan of Masayoshi Takanaka or Vacations, then you're in for one hell of a ride with this project!! That first guitar riff is absolutely stunning, and everything on this album is full of happiness and whimsy, it's that 2022 pop all over again. Really a great discovery from a small artist that should bring some joy into your day!!
(MAGNIFICENT COVER AS WELL!!!!!!!!)

Wow, HIDDEN GEM ALERT!!! I got this artist recommended to me today, and what an awesome recommendation!! The mix between rap and techno is absolutely amazing, and you can really feel the rage of the artist. Truly a great upcoming artist that you should keep a close eye on !!

La Rvfleuze - NUMÉRO D'ÉCROU

For a first album, it's good, close to neutral because of the structure of each song; he plays too much on the same rhythm (playing off one of the words from the previous sentence). Another thing that I find good, but could be better, is the feature list. I mean, yes, of course, there are all the big names of French Hip Hop such as Hamza, Koba LaD, etc... and some are good features, even really great ones; but some are absolutely horrendous.
Hoping to see even better from the next ... read more

Angine de Poitrine - Vol.1

Fun little album! I don't think I get it entirely, but it's nice. The riffs are nice and everything, but it's not insane.

*teeth - :GHOST夢心地

Really really cool project, I find it really cool that *teeth included so much artist such as my goat Boy 2000 (which fits amazingly in this genre of music). A really good house and ambient project, taping really well in the futuristic genre, listen to this if you love futuristic/house music !!

Belac - Fake the phonk

It's cool, it's chill, nothing out of the ordinary but absolutely insane if you're cruising at night !!

Slayyyter - WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA

What in the Tron OST...
I didn't expect that sound from an album with this cover but it was a pleasant surprise, the album got better and better throughout each tracks but nothing insane or out of the ordinary.
Cool project !!

It only got better and better each tracks ! I love this hyperpop/edm revival recently, and this album is only a proof that people can still pull amazing tracks even today. The melodic / sad ending of the album (excluding the last track) adds a real layer of deepness to it which is a perfect conclusion to this amazing journey !!

That's honestly the most fun I had in a while, while listening to music, tsubi club is just a silly goober and makes music that makes me want to jump everywhere ! Unfortunately it's wayyyyy to short...

tsubi club - trinket

Genuinely wow... What peeked my interest was the cover and I'm so glad it did !! This album is so full of life and so fun to listen to. It really feels like eating a rainbow in the bestest way possible, there is so much going on in so many ways but it's sooooo under control, makes me wanna love life.

Kendrick Lamar - Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers
94

You know, when something is good beyond your understanding you feel it. And that's what this album is all about, I mostly don't relate about the thing Kendrick is saying is this album (about 90%) but when it's so beautifully put/written/sang, you can't do nothing but ponder on how can someone make you feel something through sheer art.
Thank you Kendrick.
