To be honest, at first I was VERY skeptical and thought it would be ass (even tho I love 1900Rugrat); however, the album picked itself up very well by doing what Rugrat does best: rapping on some fuckass weird beats. And he did that flawlessly! We even got a Kyle Richh feature, we are eating good.
I was NOT expecting that, to be honest... I never really listened to Mitski because: one, it's a genre/artist I never really felt like listening to, and second, I am already depressed enough lmao..! But since I love my girlfriend (and it's her favorite artist), I decided to give it a listen!!
And it was a really good idea. I feel like Mitski is trying to renew her style a bit by exploring different types of sounds (I felt like it was a bit more medieval-sounding than other Mitski ... read more
Ouhhhh, some people are going to hate me for the rating, but hear me out! I started listening to Frank Ocean with Blonde, which is a 10/10 for me. For channel ORANGE, there seems to be something missing, that once-in-a-decade miracle where you produce an album so good that it cannot be topped.
The major flaws in my opinion are the length of the album and its replayability; SOME of the tracks are way too long and way too repetitive rhythm-wise and pattern-wise, in the melody and lyrical flow ... read more
It’s a decent listen, but honestly, it’s a bit of a letdown after the last few tapes. I love the aesthetic and the vibe Tupperwave is going for, but some of the tracks feel a bit too repetitive even for vaporwave. It’s got that chill atmosphere for sure, but it’s missing that ethereal spark that made the other albums so memorable. Still good for a focus session, but not his best work!!
I liked it a little bit less than VaporLoops Vol. 2, but it's still better than the first one! I really like working to vaporwave music and this album is perfect for that; really chill and ethereal (once again).
Oh, it is the best one yet!!! The loops are absolutely amazing, the old-school/chill feeling is wonderful, and even the vocal sample work is on point! Vaporwave and those types of loops are the best for focusing on work. I really love that feeling of riding in a cyber city at the end of the day while the sun is setting..!
It is actually slightly better!!! The music/lyrics ratio is way better and I can understand what 2Slimey is saying..! It is actually a really good deluxe (if it's a deluxe, I'm not sure) and we get that old Carti feeling so much, and it's actually really good. Still a bit terrible, tho...
It is what a high anxiety attack would sound like... I had so much faith in 2Slimey, aka the "King of Mexico" but it's just ridiculous at this point... I mean, there are some good ideas and one or two good tracks, but otherwise, this is just bad. I get what genre/style 2Slimey is going for, but oh my god, is it not good. Still listenable, though; I would actually love to see where he could go in the next few years.
Really cool and chill album too!! Maybe slightly less good than Grocery Store Sunset, maybe because the loops felt too repetitive (well, that's kind of obvious for loops...) but really chill, real ethereal!
What a cool album! I truly felt like I just turned the radio up and some unknown tracks were playing during a cool summer afternoon doing nothing but chilling and listening to music. And it's such cool music to focus to; the tracks not being too complicated and being really chill is a big plus. The pacing is really good, perfect length, not too long and not too short!!
This was indeed tasty; what a cool album... From the creativity of sample and story and the starting/ending bits of most of the track, this is truly an album like we don't do them nowadays! Doom's flow is very unique and keep the same greatness through all of the tracks (Even on the sudden change of flow in Rapp Snitch Knishes). Really an amazing album. I love how he uses the food theme as a metaphor for the industry and life in general, it's so clever and funny at the same time. ... read more
It's good, in the same genre as B4EM but BETTER. It's actually entirely listenable, but it gets boring really fast, kind of in the same way as A GREAT CHAOS from Ken Carson, but not exactly the same (this doesn't get boring by the 3rd track). So yes, it is good, but most of the album is not very memorable.
I thought Billie Eilish was corny... Sorry...
First of all, WHAT AN ENDING, DAMN. Second of all, I had always heard "CHIHIRO" and "BIRDS OF A FEATHER" but never the rest of the album, and what a surprise to discover that those two songs are not even the best ones!! Yes, they are good, but the entire album is actually really good!! The melodies are original, sweet and the album has an amazing pacing. I'm even more surprised at how Billie Eilish really rebranded herself ... read more
I feel weird about this album...
First of all I'd like to say that I really like this new voice of keem, it doesn't sound anything like his previous one but it sounds so much older and good.
Now onto the album : I feel like the wait was justified at 90% percent, the album was really really good but there is some downsides to it. In my opinion keem is trying to hard to mimick Kendrick Lamar's flow / type of music (well duh he is his cousin) but not in a everything is so cool way, ... read more
What a luh chill album !! I love guitar based jazz, it's so smooth and good to listen, this one was particularly interesting since there was a lot of style of jazz, regular one, free jazz, but every piece of this album is a good example of what shaped today's idea of jazz and how it is perceived for some of us !!
Damn... Having only listened to "Sam (Is Dead)" I thought the entire album would be the same, but I was unpleasantly surprised when that was only about 20% of the album. I listened to the entire project even though some songs should have been a major skip (which is never a good sign for an album). I feel like Tyler's, Frank's, and some of Domo's bits are what saved the album. I would say that the artists are good on their own, and that most of them (not all, since some ... read more
How can a voice sounds so pure yet so heartbreaking... and that fuckass guitar...
I never knew that I already hear A LOT of Adrianne Lenker in my past time, she actually has made a lot of "depressing" songs that are quite popular on social medias. Her lyrics are very reletable, the entire vibe of the album is amazing and that guitar is truly magnificent ! However, the only flaw would be that some songs are "too" similar (heavy on the quote since I find that those songs are ... read more
I swear people be glazing anything ππ
That shit feels like POP OUT from Carti but on the entire album, it's just screaming on a beat that has no coordination with the voice, 24Hrs and Free Smoke are saving the album...
HOWEVER, I find Anal perfectly fitting for how shit was the last track πππ
That's a good album, but it’s not peak Brent Faiyaz... I honestly expected a longer project, but the fact that there are no features and it still sounds really good throughout the entire album is a big plus. On "other side." I feel like a current Michael Jackson would sound something like this on his more chill tracks.
A friend recommended this group to me... and I couldn't be more thankful!!! At first, I was a bit skeptical, but it turns out that Electric Callboy is an amazing group!! I forgot how cool metal was (I was a huge metal fan when I was 14–16, but eventually grew out of it), and I might consider going back to dig more into this genre. It was a very cool album with some great melodies blending metal, electro, and even a bit of techno (there were a lot of similarities to Angerfist in the ... read more
