Yeah nah i'm sorry... I had a glimmer of hope halfay through but (TO ME) that album is bunions... There is nothing going in the good direction and nothing makes sense (in a not postive way). Being a native french speaker, the lyrics are as hollow as ever and don't serve any real purpose if not just scream/say random words. It didn't hook me AT ALL I am trying so hard but it's just buns...
However, it would make a fire soundtrack for the game LET IT DIE !!
One point I especially liked was them doing their old gimmick, "スクリーム 叫び 雄叫び 耳もとに," in "Tamasake" That gimmick is mainly developed and present in "The "Deep"" (I will forever be a "The "Deep"" glazer). However, I really didn't like this album... I really thought that with "あした/Future Is Now" Soul Scream was going to experience a rebirth and succeed in a new genre, but it was all fairy ... read more
I really didn't get the same feeling as I did from "The "Deep"". I truly feel like "The Deep"" is one of my favorite albums ever; it will forever have a special place in my heart and it reinforced my love for boom-bap style rap (especially Japanese rap). But "The Positive Gravity ~ 案とヒント" was not really it. You can find some of that old Soul Scream vibe with "HIP HOP" and "うずく欲求" which have some sharper ... read more
What a cool album !! I actually never knew that The alchemist had already made quite a few collab album, especially with Boldy James, and what a pleasant surprise !! I find it incredible the mix between The Alchemist's production/creativity level and Boldy James' sharp Lyrics. It's a really cool album but maybe a bit too short ?
Wow, see there is music and there is 🌟music🌟, Sampha falls into the second category because wow, what an insane album. First of all what an angelic and melodic voice Sampha has... It's such an incredible thing to go do high and have such a control on his voice, I am truly amazed. Second, the production on this album is magnificent, there is some amazing ideas and beautiful tracks. But most important I think that plastic 100°C is one of the most perfect track to open an album, ... read more
I was recently dabbling with a bit of J. Cole, but I had never listened to a full album. What a coincidence, he just dropped one!! I find it very cool; it's a good album with really good tracks and some real bangers. However, almost two hours of an album is not for me. I mean, the story writes itself, of course, there are going to be some blunders across 24 tracks, but it's still very nice to listen to me!!
The problem with this EP is that there is not enough listening time !!! Mario Judah change is entire style, brand, style was not something I would expect put it is one of the most insane thing I've seen recently, as his previous style was much of a scream troll rap, but know it's more of a rock/rap with some heavy meaningful lyrics. I really like this change and feel like Mario Judah could go a looonnngg way with this !!!
What happened..?
As I was so sicked to listen to this album I find myself really underwhelmed by what I just finished listening. After a long pause Joji comes back with a really "mainstream"/toned down album, which is not a good things; what I like about Joji was his creativity and style, but this album did not deliver in both those categories...
I was also quite inpatient about those insane features displayed, like we are getting Giveon, 4batz, Yeat AND DON TOLIVER ??? Like damn, but ... read more
Have you ever felt connected to music ? (I'm sure you have). Well, I feel connected to this album; I always loved jazz, bossa nova etc and this album is a modern take on how jazz can be shaped with modern instruments and ideas. I deeply deeply love every track, every sample or bits of movies/references there is. If you are a fan of jazz and want to listen to someone that could produce some more (since Berlioz is still alive) I truly recommend this album !!
WHAT HAPPENED ಠ_ಠ
I do not feel the same as when I listened to #sameone2... ksuuvi buckets is not really that good, some tracks are good on their own but as an entire project it's just not it...
Eric Cartman meets Gunnr ?! I'm kinda bummed because I feel like Fakemink gave his everything with "Blow the speaker" but the rest of the album doesn't feel as good as this intro song does... It's good but not THAT good, for the moment I tend to like London's Saviour a bit more !
WAAAYYYY TOO SHORT TO MY LIKING DAMN ! Fakemink is a real surprise that I should have listenened earlier, I really like his old cloudrap style, and the instrumental bits paired with the piano rehearsal at the end of some tracks are a really good addition. It's a really good album with some really good ideas/samples.
A Tyler, The Creator voice sample??? Damn, I really like Cochise... but it's too bad that the entire album is too redundant. :/ Each track is good, yes, but they all feel very similar. They still manage to differentiate themselves from one another, though (something Ken Carson can only dream of...). Anyways, good album, but maybe sometimes too generic?
I forgot how much I loved Wale the Sage..! His R&B style is so unique, I like how he experiment so much with sounds and beats, incorporating a bit of rock patterns here and there but overall that's a really good EP !!
I'm sorry Jordan but that not it at all... First of all, a summer sounding album while having shitty winter time and rain would have worked on me but not this time :( I feel like the album doesn't have any soul... It's forgettable and some tracks are catchy at best... (Stealing someone's joke) The title of the album is very fitting if compared to MOREWARD; BACKWARD really feel like a big step backward from his past project which is kinda bumming. Maybe I'll relisten to ... read more
First, I'd like to apologize to Teezo Touchdown for the hate he's getting for his feature on All The Signs, I found his feature really good and it perfectly add to the song.
Anyways, what an album ?! I always really like Don Toliver but he did not disappoint with Octane ! One of the most important things in this album is that every damn track is consistent, there is not bad ones, there is no skip, only really good music. The second things is Don Toliver's creativity, some track ... read more
Unfortunately, that’s a meh for me... I like it, but it's just not it, it's missing something. It's good, yes, BUT it's too generic :/ I don't feel like there is much soul to it. I do love the sample work once again, especially on Vacay where he sampled Yamê, a French artist I really like. But otherwise, the album is just good... Nothing more, nothing less.
A F1lthy beat?!
I really like the style and experimentation Aminé does in his mixtapes; they're always so unique and different from his other projects (Limbo, in this case). It is notable that in his mixtapes, Aminé always uses a more upbeat, funkier sounding type of rap (and some really funny samples of himself).
I think it might be my favorite project of his!!
A good album, however something is too much but I cannot put my finger on it.... There is some really interesting songs, and even some near 10's in my opinion (Mama and Becky). But I feel like sometimes, more on the begining of the album, there's too much going on at the same time.
The string point of this album is the sample work/life lessons; there is a lot of them a the end of each track (mostly) which I think is a really good thing that differentiate this albums from the others !
A fun little project! It’s way more rap/trap-oriented, and you can sense that Aminé is beginning to find his own voice and style. There are some really good, funny bars and some great sample work. I tend to like this a bit more than Good For You !
