I don't really know what to say about this one, it feels like a good chicken without seasoning, it's good until it's not and it's just dry you know, well it's the same with the album, the starting songs are good but it feels like eating the same songs through the end of the album :/
Aaaahhh... I LOVE MF DOOM (🕊️) Such a cool / melodical album. With this album you can really understand how it has influenced modern rap even if it got released almost 20 years ago. The shear intelligence / talent of Madlib for using and implementing really well the bits of old cartoons into the beats (even if my favorite one was Fancy clowns). Props to "Bistro" and "Rainbows" for being complex yet my favorite songs in this album.
Originally I was really sceptical about the album but I'm sorry JPEGMAFIA for not giving you a chance sooner. The tracks are eclectic but this time in a good way and a way that weirdly makes sense ! I really like this album and especially "it's dark and hell is hot" and also "JPEGULTRA" with Denzel curry ! Really nice album !
Wow... At the first half of this album I thought it was just some really good music but DAMN (get the joke, because it's Kendrick...). That's not music, that's art in its purest form; everything clicks together in the most melodious and perfect way... The jazzy interludes with saxophones are as good as some gastronomical meals, they're perfect from start to end.And the message of this album is really strong and yet, Kendrick is able to transcribe this with music, so the most ... read more
WOWIES !! This album feels like a lullaby the way it is sung and how soft it feels to the ear, I listened to this album while at the gym and I felt so comfortable during my rest times. Such a good album with very melodious and deep songs.
I was not really familiar with Kanye's music as of recently when my listen later playlist got on Graduation so I gave it a listen and I must say that I'm surprised by old Kanye! I like how full of life each track is, and how joyous each beat is. And I have to say that I'm quite surprised that Chris Martin is a feature on that album !
Aaaaahhh... I mean Lorde doing some Lorde seems quite normal but how bland is that album, I don't really get the hype about it (don't get me wrong I like Lorde) but everything feels like it already has been done. Even the beats have a taste of generic pop that every lazy singer could do. It's kinda sad..
Yikes. Don't get me wrong I really like MC solaar but this is just not the case... Most of the songs (except Okay, which I hate for the sample) are pretty good individually but put in this album they have nothing in common and do not work together. You can hear some old MC solaar in some songs such as Candyman (who took inspiration in Géopoétique). But yeah, overall mixing reggae, drill, pop, RnB and rap is too much to handle on a so quick album !
Czarface Meets Metal Face** is a killer album by Czarface and MF DOOM. It's packed with old-school hip-hop vibes, comic book references, and clever lyrics. The beats are super nostalgic, with tracks like "Nautical Depth" and "Badness of Madness" (which is my favorite) bringing dark, immersive sounds. "Stun Gun" stands out with its funky keyboards and minimalist hi-hats.The lyrics are full of pop-culture nods and comic book stories, making it a fun listen. The ... read more
Some could say it is repetitive, I personally think it's more of a poetry travel than an album. Everything to the quietest note is at the right time, on the right intensity... That album is magnificent and I couldn't explain why in my own words. Wow.
Soul crushing. Nothing more nothing less to say. Quick but purely devastating.
DAMN I LOVE OLD SCHOOL RAP. Joey Bada$$ has such a cool, flowing type of rapping and I love it, I know "righteous mind" but never gave a chance to the entire album and WOW I love how good the pacing and the tracks keep flowing. I sense some Western / Gorillaz inspiration in some of the beat but my favorite song/beat is "Where it'$ At"; it has a phenomenal but simple beat (which make me think of the city in bomb rush cyberfunk) and the lyrics are so pleasant to listen ... read more
I decided to give blonde a full listen during my morning run. I thought I would only have the time to listen to half the album but I found myself lost in time and I kept running, running and running again. I even put it back to the beginning once it ended... The weather was nice, the forest was calm, the birds chirping and everything was at peace and so quiet. I got to listen to White Ferrari in a totally different context than my previous listening and it was a once in a lifetime listen I ... read more
I am not much of a rock listener, a lot. I sometimes dabble with some mainstream albums, but I never got to give The Strokes a chance and well, what a surprise !! Likewise, I love the high rhythmic on this album and especially love the voice of the singer, which sounds very grainy in my opinion. I might pick some more rock albums in the future!
A good album that is unfortunately too repetitive... I love nemzzz and he's a great artist when it comes to songs on jersey beats (which we're really good and variated a lot on some beats). But like as I said it is way too repetitive although "DOOM" and "MAYFAIR" bring some difference in this album.
Really good album for a chill session anywhere. You can really hear how nujabes really influenced modern music and just hip hop or rap !!! The only small down sight I could address is the maybe a little too slow passing of the album but it got some amazing songs such as luv sic 3 or eclipse.
