Having finished every album from "Invisible" I actually discovered that the singer : Luis Alberto Spinetta was actually in another group !?
Artaud is a really good album, I'm getting that "El jardin de los presentes" feeling a little bit more with this one, it is not toping it but it's really good, the mix between the guitar and that "nostalgic" feeling voice is really pleasant to listen to and those spanish lyrics are only making it better ... read more
Having listened to Invisible in reverse order, I can say that they evolved from one album to another, with "Invisible" being the one I like the least and "El Jardín de los Presentes" being my favorite. It's still a really good album and a really good proposition in the prog-rock genre!! It just feels less complete than the two albums that came out after this one, which had a deeper feel to them. I still really love Invisible (the group), and they are one of my ... read more
DAMNNNNN!!! I'm absolutely baffled by the feature list..! I had never fully listened to anything from Thundercat before, and I actually quite understand now where some artists got their inspiration from! This album is such a joyful and whimsical compilation of sounds. I love the guitar/bass work on most of the tracks.
The only flaw would be the absolutely insane start of the album, only to lose it a bit toward the end, but apart from that, it was an amazing listening experience!
Such an important and deep album for me, I use to listen to "marcel." every night and cry myself to sleep with it, really a deep and personal album that you should consider listening and leraning about...
That's a very interesting take on alternative rap at this time. I never really listened to LUCKI to be honest and apart from being a cool human being, he makes really good music.
This album is not what I was expected but I was pleasantly surprised even though I found a bit of depth and energy missing throughout the project.
Alternative outro is a masterpiece tho...
It's good, yeah. Maybe a bit weak sometimes and all over the place, but I feel like it's very solid. I sense some Thundercat inspiration and a HEAVY Bossa Nova side, which I really like in Aupinard's style.
As Tyler the creator Nº1 glazzer I am quite surprised I haven't reviewed every album he did so i'm starting to listen to each one I haven't rated now.
Fun fact I actually started discovering Tyler during the beginning of CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST and at first it was NOT IT. But then one day I came back and absolutely fell in love with this album and how it is constructed.
Once you get past the initial shock, you realize the production is some of his best ever, it’s ... read more
It's good, yes. BUT with everything that happened, what Ye said, the problems with the album, the samples, the delays, the AI incident. I find it very difficult to be objective... Most of the songs are good; some are a bit more weird (NEVER SING IN SPANISH EVER AGAIN, BY THE WAY, not with that fuckass accent/pronunciation). So, I'm torn between liking this album or pushing past it, but I felt like I had to listen to it at least once.
Oh, you will be missed, Willie Colón... I just love Hispanic music and that dancing, solar feeling it has. I actually can sense how Masayoshi Takanaka might have taken a bit of influence from this man and the guitar in this album..!
I'M SO GLAD I LOOKED AT THAT COLORS !! Flagboy Giz has actually a really cool flow on most of the songs and his voice is very raspy and adds a very good original touch to his music. I like how the entire album is based on the Super Sunday and how he sings how he is so proud of his roots and how he loves being a "Mardi Gras indian". Truly a good inspiration on how to reflect on different cultures..!
The production on "I Got Indian In My Family" is so interesting because ... read more
I actually loved it! I honestly thought Jorjiana would be consistent throughout the entire album, but oh boy, I was wrong. I actually love Jorjiana and have been listening to her for a while, but I'd never listened to her albums, and I'm so hyped for her next projects if she keeps going in that direction!
HOLY PEAK... AGAIN..!As I had already listened to the first volume, it was just a matter of days before I had to listen to Volume Beta. And let me tell you, if you felt nostalgic listening to Volume Alpha, then this one will be one hell of an agonizing compilation... Still a masterpiece tho; every track feels different yet so alive and good. I really think it is a must-listen in your life.
Imagine being extremely funny and musicaly talented... Anyways, this album is a good take on modern "dark pop" and Micah is really fitting in that genre, however I find that this album is going maybe to much everywhere ? It's great, if you take each songs individually but put together maybe the album is a bit too much at the same time, great sounds and voice tho !!
It's good yeah, but not great, I used to have such a high estime of The alchemist for his sample work and creativity but as of right now I didn't really evolved to be honest. It's good don't get me wrong but it's just always the same, some really dreamy almost holidays in the summer like beat/sample with some old voices, but it doesn't get really new...
I feel like he's found a "comfort zone" that everyone loves. The beats are beautiful for sure, ... read more
It feels so good to hear Denzel rapping over those dark, distorted phonk beats again. The features are actually insane and everyone matches his aggressive energy perfectly, nobody felt out of place on the tracklist. His flow is just so sharp and fast it’s like he’s cutting through the beat, and it never gets boring even for a second. It’s definitely a gift to the long-time fans who missed that raw underground sound he started with. Truly a banger (AND THANK YOU FOR INCLUDING A ... read more
Good album, maybe a bit too bland for what I expected it to be? Still has great production and some great vocals, but heh, not THAT amazing for now.
It's still good, but I felt like it was slightly worse than MAY GOD BLESS YOUR HUSTLE, though it's still really good! The distortion work felt maybe a little less impactful, but it is still really original. However, MIKE might have had a cup of coffee before this album because I felt he was maybe a bit more energized? Still a really cool artist/album tho!
Definitely an interesting entry to MIKE; I had a bit of trouble getting into the start of the album, but it turns out to be a really good album!! There are some interesting sounds and, I find, really good work with distortion throughout the different tracks. The big plus for me is MIKE's unique flow, you know this sleepy, almost lazy flow that he's got is, for me, a really good addition to this project!
Actually, it is kinda insane...! 1900Rugrat is absolutely goated when it comes to raw freestyling 🙏😭. I don't have a lot to say except that it's bars upon bars.
