Heather Trost - Petrichor

Heather Trost's latest album, released in late 2020, is a solid album with a genuine masterpiece hiding underneath. There are quite a few times were Trost's voice seems to get lost in the vast, echoing canyons of sounds that are painted by the layers of instrumentation.

On average, the tracks are somewhat long and a few of them overstay their welcome a bit, but none of them could be accurately characterized as a bad song. "Tracks to Nowhere" is an gorgeous expression of heartache ... read more

On 21 Savage - american dream
"I definitely exaggerated a bit but there's a solid three or four songs that make references to it, which I feel like is too much lmao but maybe that's just me"
On 𝒩𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓇𝓂𝑒𝒢𝓃𝓉's review of Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot
"My hot take on Wilco is that I actually think Summerteeth is a bit better than YHF. Not sure if you've checked that one out yet but definitely worth a listen."
On DoubleZ's review of Van Morrison - Astral Weeks
"Glad to have you back. I missed this phenomenal series!"
On 𝒩𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓇𝓂𝑒𝒢𝓃𝓉's review of boygenius - the record
"I think one thing everyone should be able to agree on is that kyoto is a banger. Love that song. I can't remember scott street off the top of my head but I enjoy emotional motion sickness quite a bit and she did a cover of a Merle Haggard song a few years ago that was really good as well"
On 𝒩𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓇𝓂𝑒𝒢𝓃𝓉's review of boygenius - the record
"I kind of feel the same way about Phoebe. I find some of her songs to be phenomenal but the vast majority of her songs are just not that interesting to me."
On Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago
"Thanks for the kind words! And yea like I said in the review, I definitely get why this album holds the status that it does and why it means so much to so many people. Very good album, but it's not amongst my personal all time favorite albums."
On 𝒩𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓇𝓂𝑒𝒢𝓃𝓉's review of Tyler, The Creator - Music Inspired by Illumination & Dr. Seuss' The Grinch
"I'd say check out the song Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence by the late Ryuichi Sakomoto. It's from the soundtrack to a movie starring David Bowie, I haven't seen the movie personally but there's a piano version of the song on Sakomoto's album called 1996 that's incredibly beautiful. It's not exactly Jingle Bells but it sounds like that might be just what you're looking for haha"
On redsus's review of Bob Marley - Three Little Birds
"My favorite Bob track is probably the live version of No Woman, No Cry (which if you haven't checked it out yet you should) but this is close behind. Such a classic track."
On vivi's review of Backstreet Boys - Everybody (Backstreet's Back)
"Based. This is an absolute banger"

"Honestly, after listening to this album I feel pretty sick too lmao but fr get well soon!"
On vivi's review of The Lonely Island - Incredibad
"I used to love Lonely Island when I was a kid. I'd watch their music videos on repeat for hours. I think Sax Man is an underrated track off of this, Jack Black is just perfect on that song. Anyhow, great review! I wish I was as passionate about anything in my life as you are about the Lonely Island gang haha"
On β€ŽRemi's Reviews's review of AndrΓ© 3000 - New Blue Sun
""Better than any OutKast album (shoot me)" I consider this opinion to be an act of violence (even though I loved this new album)"
