Jeff Tweedy - Twilight Override
88

This fine triple LP is a pleasurable listen. If you cherry pick, there are more than an LP's worth of great to near great songs. I did see a show on the tour, which was even better, however, I wish I had a bit more time listening to album. Two hours and nary a Wilco song was heard. I think his best solo effort.

Iris DeMent - Workin' on a World
82

Best Iris album in quite a while. If you are an Iris fan, don't miss this one.

Taj Mahal - Savoy
79

Your typical, well made Taj album. Not many that still put out good stuff around 70 years in.

Margo Price - Strays
80

I have not listened much to Margo's past work, but I find myself listening to this often.

Joanna Sternberg - I’ve Got Me
80

If you like simple contemporary folk music you may eat this up. She has somewhat quirky voice that works well with her songwriting.

King Creosote - I Des
80

I like the King! Since his album with Jon Hopkins, I'll listen to anything he puts out, and are usually rewarded as I am here.

Jessie Ware - That! Feels Good!
82

While I do not usually get attracted to dance music, this album is impossible to not like.

Lankum - False Lankum
75

This record seems to get universal praise, that I have yet to agree with. I kind of don't know if I like this, or dislike it. Needs allot more listening.

Susanne Sundfør - blómi
NR

What a find! She is not new but new to me, which means I have past work to explore. Happy happy!

Durand Jones - Wait Til I Get Over
NR

At times excellent. At other times merely good.

Caroline Polachek - Desire, I Want to Turn Into You
NR

Certainly, one of the best of the year

Hamish Hawk - Angel Numbers
NR

Hi energy. I don't care for his voice, so, if you do, I suspect you will like this.

JOSEPH - The Sun
NR

Great Harmonys, and good songs. Worth repeated listens. Good job, sisters!

boygenius - the record
80

Very good listen. I need more time with this. The critic's reviews seem a bit over the top. Maybe I need to catch up.

Lana Del Rey - Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd
80

Terrific, though I would have dropped the, essentially, non music track(s). Her strongest to date, which indeed says a lot. Lana seems to regularly say or do something that generates controversy. If you can put that aside, this release should rank right up there on ten best lists, even if that's said in April.

Yumi Zouma - Truth or Consequences
75

Like! My first listen for this band, and I like the vocals, production and the grove that goes on for the entire album. Truer Than Ever at the monment is my favorite track.

Oh Susanna - A Girl in Teen City
85

Continues to be a favoirte album several years in. Give it some listens.

Katy J Pearson - Sound of the Morning
NR

Wow. On first listen this easily caught my attention, and now after many listens it is indeed a real deal very good album. Highly worth anyones attention. I wanted to put her into (some) catagory, but when I started to play the full record I came to the conclusion that would be short changing her. Not familiar with any earily work, but this record leaves me with great expectations for the future.

Cassandra Jenkins - (An Overview on) An Overview on Phenomenal Nature
NR

Oh! This is for the (An Overview On) a collection of demo's that ultimatly resulted in the original release. I've just listened to this and if you liked the original release, it's quite a nice companion piece. Below pertains to the original release.

Lovely album. Producer Josh Kaufman on a creative roll. Cassandra writes at least a couple of references to the tragic death of the gentlemen who performed as Purple Mountains. I enjoyed his last release very much, and have read that ... read more
