The modesty here is very intriguing for me, switching between songs that are Distorted Screaming, to synth piano, to improvised(?) ballads about family and school. Every aspect and track here reminds me of my own music from this age and it's cool to have a time capsule of 1987 that shows the kids were just like i was, just couple years or decades earlier.

Haven't listened to Steely Dan in years, decided to come back and jam again. Every track on this album has the perfect feel, I don't often talk about "textures" but this album has such a bright polish over it. I'd say my least favorite would be Kings, but just because it was rhe only track I can't actively sing in my head right now. It's a journey, not mystical and magical like some; It is hanging out with Bob Dylan for a couple afternoon recording sessions.
The songs themselves, stellar! So many of these are jaunty little tunes that made Nashville Skyline so ... read more
