some songs feel a smidge half-baked, but this is by and large a really solid indie rock record from two of the scene's best hidden gems
i love it when musicians let themselves be capital F Freaks
i really wish this album was good. songwriting is there (sometimes) but that vocal mix is just distractingly amateurish throughout
sounds like what i remember the mcdonald's playplaces being/looking like in the late aughts.
can't stand the male vocalist get him outta there
we gotta learn to use melodyne guys i'm sorry
that's what's holding this back
this rules, the consistent use of accordion really makes this stand out for the better. does definitely drag towards the end though
i would've loooved this in high school, but the lyricism doesn't really do it for me tbh. also just nothing really special instrumentally outside of the first handful of tracks --- it just kind of falls off from there.
"cockroach" is really cool
spooky, gorgeous, one of the most unique records i've ever heard. wilt really hit home for me
yeah it's good who cares if their beginnings are suspicious
one of the most interesting albums i've ever heard
the sonic equivalent of vagueposting on my close friends story
having heard this last in her discog, it feels like a prequel in the best way possible
i'm sure there is someone this works very well for, and that person is unfortunately not me. can appreciate it as a piece of art, but this just doesn't resonate with me like some of sufjan's other projects
