Working in retail I heard this song a ton, but it's a super fun song with a great instrumental.
I'm a sucker for 80's synthpop and this is one of my favorite songs from that era. Extremely catchy
So good, always heard this song in passing but actually listening to it is a whole different experience. Love the instrumental and Collins' voice.
The First Japanese Rock album that I've listened to and its amazing. It doesn't need big professional production to sound incredibly catchy and also calming at points. Definitely a new comfort album of mine, due to everything just coming together and sounding nice.
This thing hits all the right spots for me, especially the atmosphere which just sounds perfect. Great production and every song makes me vibe in one way or another.
After the first listen, I wasn't too impressed and forgot most of the songs. Then some of the songs started popping into my head again and wanted to relisten. Turns out I now love almost every song on here, it bangs.
Edit: I listened to this for a third time and Wealth hit me even more than it did on the first listen. I already consider this a 10/10 but if I could give it an 11/10 I would. Sometimes you come across an album that feels like it was made just for you, and this album is that for me. Heavily considering this as a top 3 album of all time in my opinion.
An incredibly soothing and ethereal experience like no other from start to finish. The lyrics are evocative, and Mark Hollis is pouring his heart ... read more
I mentioned in my Business as Usual review that this music really helped me through multiple points in my life, and I feel the same way with this album as well. The first two Men at Work albums are the dynamic duo in music that helped me the most. Every track on both albums just transports me to some point in my life where that song helped me the most, and I truly appreciate both of them for it. It's hard for me to pick which album I like more because on any given day the two could switch ... read more
This is just a straight up masterpiece
Every song here hits me in one way or another. 21st Century Schizoid Man is energetic and chaotic, gets me pumped every time I listen. I Talk to the Wind is absolutely beautiful and calming. Epitaph is haunting but beautiful. Moonchild may be lengthy and seemingly dull towards the end, but its ambience really sets it apart from the other tracks and I love it personally. The Court of the Crimson King is apocalyptic and terrifying, but I feel like it's a ... read more
Really was not expecting much from this album, the first solo Beatles project I heard and it's fantastic. My original score would've probably been in the high 80s, but some of the songs I didn't think too much of grew on me. This honestly became one of my new favorite comfort albums, almost every song feels nice and welcoming apart from a few high energy tracks, which are still great. Really the only reason why this isn't a 100 is because of Long Haired Lady, really wish that song was on the ... read more
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this album. I just don't think it matches up with Speaking in Tongues or More Songs About Buildings and Food, and that's for a simple reason. I do not like The Overload; I would go as far to say it is one of my least favorite Talking Heads songs. There were very few times where I felt that I liked it a little bit, but I still just don't get it. There is a chance that I could like this track in the future and place this album at the #1 Talking Heads album, but I don't ... read more
Just a really good debut album with tracks that I either like or love. I don't have too much else to say besides I put this album on in the background when I feel like it.
Ok I did not expect this to hit me as hard as it did.
First off I want to say, if you are not in a good place mentally, this album is devastating. It may not seem like that in the beginning, but the last two tracks, at least for me, hit like a thousand bricks falling on me all at once. There are definitely some standout tracks before the end, specifically "A Quick One Before the Eternal Worm Devours Connecticut", "Bloodhail", "Hunter", "Holy Fucking Shit: ... read more
Great album, just not as great as future Talking Heads albums or the one that preceded it, I like or love almost every song on the record, but a few tracks weigh it down, those being "Mind," "Paper, and "Electric Guitar." These songs are pretty short, but prevent me from listening through the entire album when I feel like it, due to them just being boring songs. However, the other songs on this are truly great grooves from the band. You have the absolute bangers "I ... read more
If anyone asked what my favorite album of all time is, I would instinctively say this one. Sure, to many others it may sound like generic enjoyable 80's pop rock, but this is an album that makes me feel good every time I listen to it, and is one that is very personal to me. As someone who suffers from high anxiety, it helped me tremendously through middle and high school. As an adult, I feel a strong wave of nostalgia listening to this and every song transports me to different and better times ... read more
