Everything considered, this album had the potential to be great. Of course, this album was made in 2022, so we did not get the album we were promised, which is incredibly disappointing, especially with the way he just filled half the album with filler songs so that the runtime wasn't skits for the entire album. All for artists changing genre and trying new things, I respect his hand at the jazz soul rnb attempt outside his comfort zone. Although there are flaws, it was an enjoyable listen. I still need to see him expand on his sound, whether it be in this lane or by building off of Jackman.
The long anticipated The Fall Off is in my humble opinion in contention to be a classic next to 2014FHD and a near perfect album. I genuinely love this album and I know that this will be in rotation for years to come. This album feels like Cole's magnum opus where he is doing what J Cole does from bars, punchlines, to practicing his greatest talent storytelling, and I personally feel his storytelling ability has peaked on The Fall Off.

i am disappointed after listening, while not bad i expected more. i fell in love with e85 after watching the trailer, shit genuinely feels like an intro to a movie. i was hoping for same type of production on the album especially after hearing snippets like long way to calabasas, call back and singles like atm. with the entire promotion of the album being around the observatory i thought the album would be focused on a certain soundscape but unfortunately the album is all over the place. the ... read more
good album but run of the mill for rocky. sequencing is random but that might be what he was going for. personally if i was a huge rocky fan id be disappointed after the wait. really hoped to see clams on dont be dumb. besides that great highs but most of the album was just good, nothing mind blowing unfortunately
