You don't see many B sides as impressive as untitled unmastered, but considering the album these songs were meant for, it only makes sense. This project both exists as a lively branch cut from the TPAB tree, and a buzzing ball of ideas in its own right.
An incredible feat of artistry, and what I believe is the closest thing we'll ever have to a perfect album in hip-hop, maybe even music. A stunning story about Black American society, systemic oppression, and a conflicted man who is torn in half by transition to status and fame. Definitely Kendrick's most universally loved work, and for good reason. This album is a gripping, immersive, and thrilling narrative that can appeal heavily to almost anyone who listens to it.
Always overlooked unfortunately, but people who do give it a listen do know it's value. It's an obvious foundation for Kendrick's later work, especially GKMC. Also Ab-Souls Outro is a banger and no one else can tell me otherwise.
