I like the oddball blend of genres displayed on the album, though it's so far removed from typical metal that I probably wouldn't classify this as any form of it. I was expecting something heavier, but the mixing doesn't allow for any heavy or harsh sounds. Speaking of the mix, it's a bit too flat for my tastes, with such varied instrumentation I think a deeper, lusher mix is warranted. Potential is shown, but to me the execution falls short.

I alternate between thinking this is way self indulgent and bloated and thinking it's the cure's magnum opus. either way, kiss me is extremely dense and requires a lifetime of digging into to fully grasp. am I allowed to call it robert smith's white album?
