The 'gateway' I took to brutal death metal. Musicianship is excellent and the production is solid, if maybe less sonically 'rich' than I would prefer.
If I had to single out one particular aspect that stands out *most*, I'd give it to Terrance Hobbs' guitar work. Fans of Suffocation will also appreciate the musical clarity this EP gives to the ass-kicking 'Catatonia' compared to its original.

Instrumental technical death metal with a heavy jazz fusion influence: try saying that five times fast.
In a less pithy and more detailed explanation, the musicianship across the board is excellent, and unlike earlier techdeath groups (not blaming here since budgets fluctuate), the production here allows every instrument to shine without it becoming an overwhelming mess of sound. A worthy sequel to an iconic debut album and this one also leads off with the sledgehammer of 'Bad Romance': one of, if not *the* most essential song that anyone who listens to Gaga should hear. Much the same as its predecessor, The Fame Monster is also effortlessly replayable and 'fun'.
