Sometimes I wonder how you manage to flip-flop in producing great shit and ass. This is their most consistent sound-wise for a mixtape. Does it mean it's good? No. It's full of minimalistic trap beats that genuinely need some flare because the boys don't provide too much substance on this. Straw Chairs is laughably bad. Leave Your Things Behind made me laugh so hard. Like what the fuck is this project man.

The Strokes

Stroke their guitars to make amazing indie rock sounds. A good amount of these songs are so catchy and well put together that it's crazy.

Some of them slowly lose their flare but that doesn't mean that they're terrible, they're still good to the ear.

Lemme get to the point of how I feel about this, I find their sound to be enjoyable, until a certain point and now I just think it's a gimmick. Goddamn it, I cannot get over the vocals from this album. I am not a fan of how the vocalist from Model/Actrix enunciates his words throughout this project, it feels eerily skin-crawling and it's way clearer in the mixing than I would like. Whew, that handstand looks dangerous.

Some great ass midwest emo/punk sounds from this small ep, which they keep playing at live shows! Surprising, I know, but these are all amazing in their own ways, especially the cover of Sheryl Crow's - If It Makes You Happy which sounds even more lively than the original in my opinion. I don't really like the ideas they came up with for this project, the message is obviously impactful and timeless, and nobody can deny that since everybody goes through life and growing older is part of it. Some fun ass white boy indie

Yeah, this is so white, but the songs are all short but extremely catchy. They sound well-executed and have great production, I enjoy the catchy melodies and riffs on the guitars especially because they burrow into my brain in such a dopamine rush way. Since it's short, nothing gets lost here. Not really much else to say but just enjoy it as something dumb to jam too without any expectations. This shit is disgusting.

Hearing it almost gives me a gag response, it's vile and has such distortion to its sound. Growls, breakdowns that'd break your mother's back, lyrics that cast a rain cloud of meaning and sadness, this little EP manages to do a good amount of things right on metalcore and I'm not usually a fan of metalcore.
