$uicideboy$

Sometimes I wonder how you manage to flip-flop in producing great shit and ass. This is their most consistent sound-wise for a mixtape. Does it mean it's good? No. It's full of minimalistic trap beats that genuinely need some flare because the boys don't provide too much substance on this. Straw Chairs is laughably bad. Leave Your Things Behind made me laugh so hard. Like what the fuck is this project man.

Bye number 2

This wriggly goofy ah album sux  nah joking. But well, I honestly don't find this project interesting. It's very cool, full of samples and breakcore/DnB influences that sound like you're thrown into a retro SEGA verse, but does it keep me engaged? Minimally. I find this more something to throw in the background when playing a game and that's exactly what I did, which could potentially make or break the experience review-wise but I found it more enjoyable that way. ... read more

The Strokes

Stroke their guitars to make amazing indie rock sounds. A good amount of these songs are so catchy and well put together that it's crazy.

Some of them slowly lose their flare but that doesn't mean that they're terrible, they're still good to the ear.

Cypress Hill - Black Sunday
62

Yeah uh I don't smoke Cypress.

Lemme get to the point of how I feel about this, I find their sound to be enjoyable, until a certain point and now I just think it's a gimmick. Especially since a good amount of the album involves weed and there's even a song called Legalize it which is progressive for it being in 1993, but still I can't say I just don't care for the album to enjoy the music if it's mainly about that.

I also don't find that weird goofy eccentric ear-scratching vocal tone one of ... read more

Ministry - ΚΕΦΑΛΗΞΘ [Psalm 69: The Way to Succeed and the Way to Suck Eggs]
75

Ministry wants to suck eggs?

Well well well, Al Jourgensen, someone who has been through industrial metal from its highs and then to its shit because he absolutely fucked himself by involving himself TOO much in politics. Well, not getting into that but how does Psalm 69 stand out considering it's one of his most highly praised albums?

Well uh, it's decent. I'm a fan of industrial metal or industrial in a good amount of ways with NIN always being the frontrunner, then pushing to more unique ... read more

Soul Glo - Diaspora Problems

I feel like I just got yelled at for listening to this album.

Like bro what do you want me to do with this amazing ass work, not listen to this shit? Goddamn, screaming and destroying your instruments ain't gonna turn my speakers off from hearing this wild ass punk.

72

Grahhhh

Goddamn it, I cannot get over the vocals from this album. I am not a fan of how the vocalist from Model/Actrix enunciates his words throughout this project, it feels eerily skin-crawling and it's way clearer in the mixing than I would like. To some that's great, and power to the people that love it, for me, it ruins the experience personally.

The amazing production with the deep cavernous drums to the clapping snares that go crazy on Mosquito, the groovy beat on Crossing Guard, and ... read more

Michael Cera Palin - "I Don't Know How To Explain It"

Whew, that handstand looks dangerous.

Some great ass midwest emo/punk sounds from this small ep, which they keep playing at live shows! Surprising, I know, but these are all amazing in their own ways, especially the cover of Sheryl Crow's - If It Makes You Happy which sounds even more lively than the original in my opinion. The bass in this project is also so creative, I love hearing it in the mix because the bassist is having the time of his life.

The problem though is its 5 tracks that ... read more

Danny Brown - Quaranta

Bruh thinks I know Spanish

Quaranta, Danny's solo album has been in the works for 4 years and has been shit on by Warp Records for 2 years. Man has been through ups and downs, consistently broke in his 40s trying to continuously commit to his passion of rap, all the while committing to a podcast, drug problems, expectations, etc etc.

It was an eventual release though because of him being 40. With the release of Scaring the Hoes in collab with JPEGMAFIA, this had to come out, we needed more ... read more

Good Kid - Good Kid 2

White music 2

Think of Good Kid, strip down some ear-worm melodies, create holes in terms of fluidly listening track to track, and water it down into even more basic pop, but it's still a good listen.

Hey, ily! - Psychokinetic Love Songs
62

Hey, I love you!

Well, I don't love this album. So, what went wrong with how it sounds, honestly not much. I enjoy the mixture of bitpop, emo, and indie rock on this album, but there are problems encountered with this album. Context, I enjoy some of ILY's songs such as Sorry and DigitalLung.EXE so I'm not out the gate righting off their sound.

Lemme introduce one thing, the pockets they hit. Some of the songs in this project hit beautiful and catchy pockets of ideas that get me jamming out of ... read more

Free Throw - Lessons That We Swear to Keep
48

I found this to be a dive-off for Free Throw

I don't really like the ideas they came up with for this project, the message is obviously impactful and timeless, and nobody can deny that since everybody goes through life and growing older is part of it. It's just that they implement almost a more corny poppy sound to the sound, making it ultimately sound like a millennium giving you a message through TikTok.

Going through it makes me miss Those Days Are Gone. I found the lyrics to be the ... read more

Holy FUCK

This is only 13 minutes? I've put this thing on repeat several times in the past coming days when it came to reviewing this, and thought why not throw it on working out? I am influenced by music emotionally if it really invokes some power through it, and Nails does not disappoint in the slightest. This shit made me angry, it motivated me to finish reps, and power through shit like nothing can stop my ass in this wall of gritty overpowering violence.

It's like a start and stop, you ... read more

Some fun ass white boy indie

Yeah, this is so white, but the songs are all short but extremely catchy. They sound well-executed and have great production, I enjoy the catchy melodies and riffs on the guitars especially because they burrow into my brain in such a dopamine rush way. Since it's short, nothing gets lost here. Not really much else to say but just enjoy it as something dumb to jam too without any expectations. That'll be the way to really enjoy this goofy ah white boy ep

Mount Eerie - Wind's Poem
75

PHIL MADE A BLACK METAL ALBUM!?

My first thoughts for this project were "goddamn am I kinda disappointed." I love Phil's Glow pt.2 and I've heard tidbits of his other project where I also enjoy the fuck outta his ideas and his unique components that I have never heard anyone else ever do. The PROBLEM though is this project mixes that with black metal. It was also the expectation levels rising from the fact Wind's Dark Poem was the first song too. That song gave me the wishful sound ... read more

74

I'm NOT playing this at my funeral

I'll play it in my own time :3

Anyway, this project gives a better performance and even feels more fun than Remorse which is the only other project so far I've listened to. It's repetitive sure, it sounds corny with the track names and the lyrics involving "don't mess with my gang or we gonna shoot you up" or something similar. The thing is though this album is 20 minutes long with 10 songs, which I'd say is fucking great for this type of project ... read more

Knocked Loose - A Tear in the Fabric of Life
84

This shit is disgusting.

Hearing it almost gives me a gag response, it's vile and has such distortion to its sound. Growls, breakdowns that'd break your mother's back, lyrics that cast a rain cloud of meaning and sadness, this little EP manages to do a good amount of things right on metalcore and I'm not usually a fan of metalcore.

Kunt Kobert

The absolute legendary naked baby that gave birth to the filthy sound of mainstream grunge. Kurt Cobain gained an almost legendary martyr status, as such with Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic, that was given an even bigger boost with In Utero, and then finally the eventual problematic and controversial death of Kurt Cobain solidifying that status of an utmost god upon the genre. The background of the band itself was very controversial, the story was severely depressing, and the ... read more

"It's a difference in views, personally I cannot because the back of my mind constantly likes reminding me about what the creator as done. It just sours the experience that makes it unfair for bias. I could just like not like Rihanna but she hasn't really done anything, but these guys have a literal case of neglect of sexual assault, there's a difference.
