"Confessions on a Dance Floor" ranges from "interesting ideas with questionable execution" to timeless classics, but it mostly stays in the middle. The production on this LP is the star of the show. It's never boring, and it has that 2000s club music feel without being generic. Sampling pop music from the 80s, especially Madonna herself, is a neat idea done very well.

PinkPantheress is all over my social media, both her personality and music are very fun, and this short mixtape is no exception. "Romeo" is so catchy.
What's the criteria for something to be a mixtape?
"People Of The Moon" perfectly encapsulates a summer night party by the sea. "Bar Mediterraneo" worked better as an album, while the material here wants to be a bit more independent. Every song is super funky, though a bit shorter and constantly high-energy, so I personally experienced some fatigue by the end. Of course, it's only a 36-minute LP, so it isn't a major problem.

This is the first time I heard Little Simz and it was enough to tell that she's a great person. The entire album feels like active denouncing of self-centeredness and narcissism. Though she knows her worth and is proud of the hard work that brought her to where she is now, she also keeps highlighting how much community, family and friends mean to her. "choke enough" is lowkey lowkey. It's background for the background. I feel like I have to physically get down on the ground and put my ear closer to hear them.
