Sufjan Stevens - Javelin
90

If Sufjan and Mitski remain my top rated albums for the rest of the year, I will check myself into a facility
EDIT: I listened to this before the post about Evans. Now despite trying, I cannot listen at all. My brother almost died of GBS at age 6. He later got a brain tumour, and has thus never been able to sustain a relationship throughout his health issues. Despite being his sister, how am I able to console him through this experience? How much suffering does Sufjan have to go through? It's ... read more

Nice been yearning for some fresh new beats to disassociate to

Doja Cat - Scarlet

I'm enjoying this. I've always enjoyed a Doja Cat here or there at da club, but lately she's reversed- psychologied me into really liking her. I actually enjoy her bizarre antics and hope she leans into it even more into the future. Love the 90s neo soul vibes on later tracks, so smooth and jazzy and gives me that just-in-love feel.
EDIT: y'all are so boring and humorless. more and more convinced the haters have fallen right into doja's cleverly woven web... if this album was made by some ... read more

Everyones like “damn this is so sad can only listen once a year” and I’m like “ inject it directly into my brain every hour of every day” and yes my doctor says I am FINE ok?????!!!

Bruce Springsteen - Lucky Town

This album goes off. Good for gardening and digging etc. Also the best album cover of all time. The font. The sunnies. The shirt. The chain. It's bloody perfect

John Prine - Souvenirs

Sorry but this rules and its perfect listening when you're depressed on public transport and need a smile.

The Mountain Goats - The Sunset Tree
91

Thought i’d revisit this on a nice sunny afternoon in the garden. It was a mistake and now I am crying and shaking in the flower bed

Hmm. Major points lost because the lyrics take me back to the “2011 songs about partying on a friday night and putting your hands in the air feat pitbull” era.

The Mountain Goats - Bleed Out

I love revenge tales and I love the mountain goats so there was no way I wasn’t going to love this. Bleed out is such a great closer. Plus if you play this while you’re at the gym it will turn you into an absolute beast guaranteed

The Weeknd - Dawn FM

If this is the closest thing I can get to new daft punk in 2022 then I’m ok with it

BROCKHAMPTON - SATURATION III
