Mercyful Fate - Dead Again
65

Mercyful Fate: 06
Best: "Since Forever", " Torture"
Worst: "Dead Again" (Just far too long for it's own good)

Mercyful fate follows up 1996's "Into the Unknown" with "Dead Again" in 1998. They are two very similar records with both building up similar atmospheres throughout their respective runtimes. "Dead Again" is slightly worse in my opinion versus their previous record, mostly due to the nearly 20 minute longer run ... read more

Mercyful Fate - Into the Unknown

Mercyful Fate: 05
Best: "The Uninvited Guest"
Worst: "Lucifer", "Fifteen Men(And a Bottle of Rum) "

Mercyful Fate follows up their 1994 album "Time" with "Into the Unknown"; it's similar to the previous record, but it is as if the members experienced some nostalgia for the 80s and decided to go for an album that sounds like it came from that era of music. I enjoyed this record quite a bit, don't get me wrong, but it is worse than all ... read more

Mercyful Fate - Time
75

Mercyful Fate: 04
Best: "Witches' Dance", "My Demon"
Worst: None (As no tracks feel below the rest)

Mercyful Fate follows up "In the Shadows" with "Time" in 1994, focusing more on atmosphere and overall theatrical effect on this record than their previous one, which is to its benefit. It's more experimental than their previous, and has more of a King Diamond/Mercyful Fate sound to it, although "In the Shadows" still sounds like ... read more

Mercyful Fate: 03
Best: "Egypt", "The Bell Witch"
Worst: None

After 9 years between this and their previous release --1984's Heavy Metal classic "Don't Break the Oath"-- and being disbanded for a few years, during which King Diamond started his "solo" career and released some excellent album during that time, Mercyful Fate returns with "In the Shadows". It's not a bad record, by any means, with quite a few tracks being very ... read more

Mercyful Fate: 02
Best: "A Dangerous Meeting", "Come to the Sabbath"
Worst: "To One Far Away"

A amazing follow up to Mercyful Fate's 1983 debut album "Melissa", but i prefer "Melissa" a little bit more over this. The instrumentals are again top notch, and I like King Diamond's vocals on this record, all though they do sound quite a bit different from the previous release, and the production fits as well. Overall a amazing ... read more

Mercyful Fate - Melissa

Mecryful Fate: 01
Best: "Evil", "Melissa"
Worst: None

Genuinely one of my favorite Metal records out there, some dislike King Diamonds vocals, but honestly there half the appeal from this record; The instrumentals are also top notch. Honestly just a absolute fucking classic, and one of my all time favorites.

Morbid Angel - Kingdoms Disdained

Morbid Angel: 09
Best: None
Worst: None

This album is like if you asked Ai to make a Morbid Angel record. Once you've heard one song from this record you have heard everything. Overall a basic fucking album, and what a weak way to end the discography of the band which made "Altars of Madness".

Morbid Angel - Illud Divinum Insanus
20

Morbid Angel: 08
Best: None
Worst: "I am Morbid", and "Too Extreme!"

What the actual fuck is this shit, genuinely unlistenable. This just doesn't need to exist, if only they just stopped after "Gateways to Annihilation", their reputation and legacy would just be so much better. Overall just don't listen to this shit, it fucking sucks.

Morbid Angel: 07
Best: "Beneath The Hollow"
Worst: "Drum Check", and "Death Walk"

The production on this record is one of the worst, Genuinely inaudible at times, and I couldn't even hear Steve Tucker sing. The first half of this record is decent, but the second half is actual garbage half the damn tracks are literally just random noises. Overall what a load of horse shit, this is where Morbid Angel loses the ability to even put our mediocre albums.

Morbid Angel - Gateways to Annihilation
65

Morbid Angel: 06
Best: "Summoning Redemption"
Worst: "Kawazu"

Far better than their previous record, the vocals in particular. Far more doomy than their previous records, with the overall sounds just being slower and heavier. Steve Tuckers vocals have improved considerably since the previous record. The production is also better. There is less interludes in this LP, which improves it in my opinion, most of Morbid Angel's interludes are just filler tracks, that ... read more

Morbid Angel - Formulas Fatal to the Flesh
50

Morbid Angel: 05
Best: None
Worst: "Invocation of the Continual One", The last three tracks, and "Disturbance in the Great Slumber"

What a immense disappointment, Morbid Angel went from a 9/10 album to a 4/10 album, what a fuckin' drop off. This album is 20 minutes too long, with many tracks that aren't even interludes feeling unnecessary. The final three tracks are godawful, with no real purpose other than to pump up the track numbers. The production is ... read more

Morbid Angel: 04
Best: "Dawn of the Angry", "Hatework", and "Caesar's Palace"
Worst: None

Many consider this to be Morbid Angel's work record from their first four releases, but I actually find it to be their second best. True there are many interludes in this record, but they are of a higher quality than their previous ones, and I don't find myself being bored half to death whilst listening to them. It's a different album from their other ... read more

Morbid Angel - Covenant

Morbid Angel: 03
Favorite Track: "God of Emptiness"
Least Favorite Track: "Nar Mattaru"

Better than "Blessed Are The Sick", but in my opinion it is slightly worse than "Altars To Madness". This is Morbid Angel's breakout album, with it selling over 150,000 copies making it one of the most successful Death Metal records out there, and it is not a bad representation of the genre at all. Overall a great album, and one of Morbid Angel's best, ... read more

Morbid Angel: 02
Favorite Track: "Day of Suffering"
Least Favorite Track: "Desolate Ways"

Overall worse than the previous record, with worse production as well, but still a solid release. This record is also held down by needless interlude tracks that just got added to boost run time. Overall a good album, but it's not their best.

Morbid Angel - Altars of Madness
90

Morbid Angel: 01
Favorite Track: "Chapel of Ghouls"
Least Favorite Track: None (No tracks feel below the rest)

Morbid Angel's discography starts off really strong with "Altars of Madness". The instrumentals are great, the vocals are great, and the production is good, there is nothing that I found particularly wrong with this record. Overall a great record, and Morbid Angel's best.

Invultation - Feral Legion
70

Invultation: 03 Final.
Favorite Track(s): "Retching Holy Viscera", "Lower Beasts".
Least Favorite Track: "Mark Of The Fang"

Not a bad record to end off this short discography with. As far as quality goes it's inbetween "Unconquerable Death" and "Wolfstrap". Overall I recommend it to any fan of War Metal, all though it does drag on for a little while.

Invultation - Unconquerable Death
75

Invultation: 02
Favorite Track(s): "Unconquerable Death", "Banners Under The Moon".
Least Favorite Track: None.

Overall a improvement from the previous record, with some more Death Metal influence in there. The vocals and instrumentals have improved, the production is very similar to no change at all. I would recommend it to any fan of War Metal.

Invultation - Wolfstrap
65

Invultation: 01
Favorite Track: "Crushed Skull Fetish"
Least Favorite Track: "Invocation Of The Black Names" (Not a bad track by any means, but kind of forgettable.)

As a debut, this LP is quite solid, but most of the tracks were kind of forgettable and nothing crazy; Except "Crushed Skull Fetish", which was actually quite good and above the rest, I remember picking up my phone to see the tracks title, as I was enjoying it quite a bit. With the run time being a ... read more

Ripping Corpse - Dreaming with the Dead

I have listened to this album time and time again, and yet I never tire of it. Honestly just a Death Metal masterpiece and a must listen for any fan of the genre.

I am not the biggest fan of the "slower" death metal, but i rather enjoyed this record; Reminds me a lot of early Paradise Lost.
