Aupinard - pluie, montagnes et soleil
67

Jungle Jack - Cognacs & Cigarettes
85

Jean Jass donne du caviar, Jungle Jack n’a plus qu’à délivrer avec son écriture technique et ses références. Bref, notre duo JJ x2 fonctionne très bien !

Nicholas Craven - Late to My Own Funeral
75

Alright, this is starting to feel repetitive — the guys are going to need a new artistic direction, because we’re running out of steam by the third project! It’s starting to feel like a caricature of the last two projects…

ANKHLEJOHN - LIVE! At The Disco
81

Ankhlejohn never disappoints! Always delivering quality! A really great collaboration — easily Ankhlejohn’s best project this year.

Rome Streetz - Trainspotting
70

Rome Streetz rapper = one of the best of his generation, establishing himself as an essential figure in New York hip hop. The problem is, Conductor’s productions feel a bit like leftovers; it’s a shame because Rome deserves better! Handling an entire project is getting harder for Conductor. That said, he’s still an excellent producer — when he drops one or two tracks like this on a project, it works perfectly, but maybe he’s not quite suited to handle all the beats ... read more

Knowledge The Pirate - ️The Round Table
79

Alright, Roc Marciano’s production is excellent, the lyricism is very strong, and the project’s vibe — yes! We love that dreamless/ Boom Bap gangsta, New York atmosphere! That said, Knowledge’s flow is very, maybe even too, repetitive; that’s the only small downside — he falls a bit too much into the easy route. Having said that, the album still works because the production and lyrics cover up that side of it.

Jungle Jack - CREAMLAND
82

Ghostface Killah - Supreme Clientele 2
78

the old veteran is still here

McKinley Dixon - Magic, Alive!
80

Some might say that with all these instruments, the essence and simplicity of rap gets lost… but I disagree. It brings a fresh, original touch to rap — the skills are there. That said, he has to be careful not to force this artistic direction; we just want him to keep being himself!

Little Simz - Lotus
83

Without info , you can feel a Little Simz who’s free to do what she loves, drawing on styles that reflect both her roots (Nigerian – Afrobeat) and her country (England – Punk). This blend makes the album feel alive and liberated. She’s innovating, even if at times the mix can leave us a bit lost… I can’t wait to see what direction she takes next, without info . In any case, she let it all out on her track Thief haha.

billy woods - GOLLIWOG
95

He’s pushing his horrorcore style to the max, both in his delivery and in the production. Billy keeps bringing a fresh edge to the hip-hop world,!

MIKE - Showbiz!
86

The vibe he brings is truly unique — he has his own world, and he masters the drumless style like no one else. His soulful samples perfectly match the atmosphere, making the listening experience deeply moving. His consistency, that one-of-a-kind ambiance, and the themes he brings to each new project have built one of the best discographies of this decade! Mike is just too good — he constantly finds ways to reinvent himself, even within a style like drumless that can sometimes feel ... read more

Kali Uchis - Sincerely,
91

Love, emotions — that’s what this princess brings us! All we can do is bow down…

Clipse - Let God Sort Em Out
88

We haven’t seen a comeback like this since Jordan’s ’95 retirement! Good job, Clipse!

Blood Orange - Essex Honey
86

Yes, I’m late, but I just discovered this phenomenon! So impressive — he manages to create his own universe in a way that makes him impossible to categorize! His talent shines through, whether it’s in the writing, the ability to bring out emotions, all carried by absolutely stunning instrumental choices. Definitely one of my favorites of the year!

Westside Gunn - HEELS HAVE EYES 2
88

Once again, Westside Gunn proves he has one of the most remarkable discographies out there. The project is excellent, whether we’re talking about the production choices, the features... This feels like one of, if not the best project we’ve gotten from him in the past 2–3 years. He’s got that circle, that formula that fascinates — he understood that it was time to drop the trap sound in favor of quality New York boom bap and drumless beats.

Patti Smith & Kevin Shields - The Coral Sea
83

The Coral Sea is a mesmerizing collaboration where Patti Smith’s poetic spoken-word storytelling meets Kevin Shields’ lush, immersive guitar textures. The album feels like an intimate performance captured in time, blending raw emotion with atmospheric soundscapes. It’s a haunting, meditative journey

きのこ帝国 [Kinoko Teikoku] - 渦になる [Uzu ni naru]
83

Uzu ni naru showcases Kinoko Teikoku’s signature blend of melodic shoegaze and ethereal vocals. The album flows with subtle emotion, balancing nostalgia and serenity in a hypnotic, immersive soundscape.

死んだ僕の彼女 [my dead girlfriend] - hades (the nine stages of change at the deceased remains)
87

With hades, the Japanese shoegaze collective immerses listeners in a dense, cathartic world, where soaring guitars and massive soundscapes blend with ghostly, ethereal vocals. The album balances raw sonic intensity with fragile beauty, serving as a meditation on loss and transformation. It’s a demanding but deeply immersive work.
