This is probably the simplest, most straight-forward song in Stephen's whole catalog, but it's still such a nice, positive, vibey experience with a really great message. I have no idea where this album is gonna go sonically, but I'm hyped.

One of my favorite instrumentals I've ever listened to.
I found this in early 2023 during one of the darkest points in my life, and it's still what I would consider to be one of my favorite songs of all time. Same also applies to the (Slowed + Reverb) version.

The production score on the album ranges anywhere from a 35 to a 65.
Had to remove a LOT of points for the messaging 😭💔 And also Tom just sounds so weird when he sings/raps, I really can't connect with it at all

I'm very confused...

It’s been 5 years since Tame Impala released their last album, The Slow Rush, and I was convinced Kevin Parker was silently crafting something groundbreaking in the background. Currents and The Slow Rush both blew me away. I gave them scores in the 90s, with Currents sitting at a 96 for me. So when Deadbeat was announced, my expectations were through the roof.

Let me preface... The producers CARRIED on this album so badly. If it was different lyrics and a different singer, this album would actually be really good. But I had to deduct anywhere 10 to 30 points off of songs because of the lyrics/performance. There's something about the way he pronounces his words when he sings that annoys me so much. This is an extremely difficult review for me to write.

First and foremost, I want to say rest in peace to Celeste Rivas. Being innocently murdered is already such a horrible, inhumane act to commit on someone, but the fact that she was still a teenager with a whole life ahead of her makes it all the more devastating.
