Crown The Empire tries something new; results may vary. It's not bad though, some really good tracks on this one, and it still feels somewhat unique within the softer metalcore subgenre
This is kinda like a metalcore, a bit less mature and somehow more melodramatic The Black Parade . I love this album and if we're taking the rest of CTE's discography into consideration, it's all downhill from here lol
just a great post hardcore record
favs: Skin and Bones, Cherry Coke, Confession
I really like this album despite what everyone says. I find it funny how people call it a generic metalcore sound when it's not even metalcore ffs lmao
I think this is Rivilin's darkest record, with a pretty heavy blend of post hardcore, nu metal and emo rap. As with his other releases, terribly underrated and very unique. The opener, Tired, is one of his best songs of all time. It really reminds me of 'There Is A Hell' era BMTH.
Favorite tracks: Tired, Calcify
one of the best emo rap artists out there, very unique and terribly underrated!!
i’d give this a better score if it was a little shorter as the tracklist drags on a big, but its still really good
A weird project that rips off BMTH in more ways than one, but does it worse and quite frankly at times sounds like watered down version of That’s The Spirit and Post Human Survival Horror (OPIUM straight up copies the breakdown riff from Parasite Eve).
When Chivas doesn’t try to copy BMTH’s homework, he comfortably sits in a fairly competent emo rap style, which shines on the track “rysunkowy potwór”. There are some hyperpop elements as well, but this ... read more
Probably the best emo record i've ever heard and overall one of the most important albums I've ever listened to
maaaan, i'm not even sure what to do with this record. it's fine. it's okay. it's pretty good. generic jordan-fish-core. It's a step up from "the classic symtpoms..." but feels like a huge downgrade from "For Those That Wish To Exist" and I know that's not a very popular opinion among fans. I truly think that album had something going for it with the industrial and symphonic elements sprinkled in. This just fells kinda soulless. The guitar work ... read more
a beautiful dark pop album about death. it flows extremely well and I love the atmospheric instrumentals in a lot of the tracks, especially 'Curiosity Killed The Moth' or 'Oblivion For Two'. I wish it was longer though
After a re-listen, it might be a top 3 LP album. The electronic flourishes pretty much predicted the way rock and alternative metal would go in the years to come - Lost In The Echo sounds like something that could be released today and would make rounds on Octane.
I absolutely love the experimentation on tracks like Skin To Bone, Until It Breaks or Victimized. The emotional vulnerability on the closer, Powerless really hit me in a way I didn't expect.
This is plain trash with no redeeming qualities. America is the only bearable song on this piece of shit album
So this album is actually pretty terrible and you gotta be blinded by nostalgia to not see it. It aged horribly and most of the lyrics are dogshit, the frat boy aesthetic is cringe af, but I gotta admit - some of the more serious songs are okayish
Listening to this band after a couple years, I forgot how mediocre these albums were. Every album has some good songs mixed in with some absolutely horrible ones, making it a mid experience at best. This is no exception - it has some of the band’s best cuts mixed with some of the worst.
Overall a pretty weird album. Probably their most mature album up to that point, the highs are really high but the lows are stupidly low
