Y'know, as someone who's been waiting for this album since they dropped double trio 1, there's really not much i can disapprove with over here. As high as the highs on Pheonix went, the album was definetly undercooked. For every sprawlingly beautiful "Outside" there would be a one-verse-on-repeat musical sketch like "Ground zero". This album feels like it was recorded in a pitch black musty basement with scott, 19 other musicians, and an uninvited vampire chilling in the corner, in witch everybody is trying really hard not to giggle or shit litsening to scott singing because there are like 2 instruments maximum on every part of the songs and are practically just a captive audience trying not to make a noise.

Year of the snitch is the Syro of the death grips catalog: It's record made after everything they wanted to prove/say was all gone and the band wanted to do now was have some fun making an album before disappearing and moving on with their lives.
