THEE disco album. A Classic. Everything about this is so well done and executed. None of the songs sound dated. I literally did not get bored by one song. "Hot Stuff" and "Bad Girls" went triple platinum in my room. The production and melodies sound so pure and excellent and the whole record still sounds so fresh. The lyrics are great. There's so many hidden gems in this record that deserve more recognition as well. "Walk Away", "Dim All The Lights", ... read more
Finally finished finals and this semester so I can write reviews again <3 Anyways I love how versatile this album is. It's fun, fresh, and honestly refreshing in this political climate. It's a very upbeat, messy, chaotic, and nostalgic record. The production is by far the highlight and I love how the genres range from pop, rock, house, and rap. There's also a punk attitude in this that separates itself from most pop albums in this decade. The electroclash and industrial sound ... read more
This is actually not a bad song, but it's definitely camp and has its audience. I admit I'm kind of let down with this but I honestly enjoyed the production here. The genres were nice together. Charli blends glitchy, electronic music with a more upbeat rock sound that only further establishes Charli as a boundary-pushing artist. The lyrics seem to be rather satirical of rock and roll almost like it's dissecting the culture rather than a primitive attempt to fully merge into the ... read more
I like Adela and I think she's talented but I just can't get past the surface level lyrics and rhetoric behind her songs. She seems to have an image that's aberrant from other pop singers, which I like, but her music either falls flat or under the same landscape as the others. "KGB" has an interesting production that is similar to the likes of other electropop acts, most specifically Lady Gaga and Goldfrapp. While I appreciate the vibrant production and genres, some ... read more
It's a cute song. The production is pretty consistent. There were some retro elements and it's catchy but it still feels a bit too safe and bland. I love the genres but I was expecting something huge to be happening. The lyrics were okay, a bit corny in some areas but overall, it's a fun and relatable pop song! It's not for me but I'm still looking forward to the album.
Decent but enjoyable album. It's certainly not a masterpiece but there were some overall great moments with the synths and production wise. I like that it's influential and we are still hearing that same influence in modern albums. With that said, I quite enjoyed this! It's a grower but the production is consistent and actually addicting. Interesting melodies. Great transitions and synths. It's actually really fun and kind of crazy they were making stuff like this in the ... read more
