Discovered this artist through the Parannoul link up and I’ve been listening their music everyday since
I definitely thought there last album was better, here it feels too much on the nose, they never exceed my expectations, it flows well and there’s nothing bad far from it, but it didn’t feel like there was any real highlight.
Honestly if I was just rating the first disc it might have gone up to 95, but as other people pointed out before me the second disc can be weaker at times.
With their debut album Friko dropped one of my favorite project of this decade so far, it was intense and emotional, but also energetic and almost everything about it clicked for me.
So coming into this second album I was both excited and scared of disappointment, but it ended up fine, as I find the album actually good, meaning it wasn’t a one time thing with this band.

Not disappointed by Plastic Beach, the band’s sound feels much more polished here, mature even, and the tracklist just keeps on giving.
I didn’t like everything about the album, the last two tracks especially, Bright eyes can be a bit corny at points but I also really enjoyed most of it as it does have its faire share of highlight moments.
The second half is considerably weaker than the first one ,which is so good that it doesn’t even mean the ending is bad, just that it’s not « elite » all the way.
I kind of preferred the first album tbh though I still find the music very charming
