Kanye West - Late Orchestration
80

Live albums can sometimes be hit or miss, they can either improve on the original song or make them worse in a way. "Late Orchestration" is a perfect example of both being showcased in their own ways. I'm mostly considering this album a bonus entry on my deep dive as these are just songs I've already heard before from both "The College Dropout" and "Late Registration" respectively. All lot of these songs are songs I grew to love during this deep dive, but ... read more

CG5 - OK Friday
100

I'm cringe but I'm free!!!! If I never knew about CG5 or knew that this song was was about Friday Night Funkin', I would just see it as a normal song that plays on the radio. Truly takes me back to the golden days of FNF before most things came crashing down. Not to mention that bridge between Charlie and Anna, TAKE ME TO HEAVEN!!!! I love this song, so good and super slept on.

¥$ - VULTURES 2
66

To answer the question I asked on my "VULTURES 1" review, yes, I probably should've been scared. Ladies and gentlemen, our very first yellow rated project of the deep dive!!! Yea, this definitely was a rough one, even after the mixing updates people have mentioned. Don't get me wrong, there are still plenty of good songs on this album, but they're HEAVILY overweighted by the bad ones. Weird writing, weird instrumentals, stuff I usually love but it's not handled ... read more

I feel like a lot of the Ye albums I've listened to have all been 80+ in my opinion, so I feel like I've been overdue for some absolute stinkers at this point of the deep dive, so I plan on listening to "VULTURES 2" after I've taken some time to myself, I don't want to be out here spamming reviews left and right. Like KIDS SEE GHOSTS, ¥$ is a duo group consisting of Ye, and this time around, Ty Dolla $ign. This album had a lot of hype around it when it first ... read more

AYOOOOOO, THE TRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIN!!!!!!! Somebody please get that reference, I'm begging you. This is one of the albums out of Ye's discography that I've been MOST excited to listen to and lemme just say that it TRULY blew my expectations out the window. It deserves its status as one of the best rap albums of the 2010s, and the people here seem to agree with me considering this albums "Must Hear Album" star. The production is on point, Ye snaps like always, the album ... read more

B. Morton - ROCKET SCIENCE
87

I mentioned in my "ROCKET SCIENCE II" review that I wanted to check out the original "ROCKET SCIENCE" for a comparison between the two. Honestly, both albums are REALLY good, but "ROCKET SCIENCE II" takes the lead by a mere 3 points. You can definitely hear more polishing on the second album rather than the first, but that doesn't mean that this album isn't good either. I personally believe this album was HEAVILY carried by the last four songs because ... read more

B. Morton - ROCKET SCIENCE II

Shoutout to @LinkyDinky for recommending your album to me, I greatly appreciate it! "ROCKET SCIENCE II" is the sequel to Morton's debut album "ROCKET SCIENCE", an album that I may check out right after finishing this one. In all honesty, this is a really good album and the sample usage is phenominal on this. The only song off this album I wasn't really the biggest fan of was the russian song, which translated into English is "IS IT TRUE". Well, I'll ... read more

Marquette - Waxing / Waning

Huge shoutout to @PlasticTrees for the recommendation, this EP was truly something special. I can definitely see where key vs. locket got some of her inspirations for "i felt like a sketch", so listening to this makes me even more excited for her "turn sour" album this year!!! Marquette is a band that no one really knows about other than their 2 EPs, besides those two projects, there really isn't much to learn about this band. It's sad to see that aren't ... read more

myrtleleaf - what is there

My friend started making music out of the blue, WHY IS EVERYONE IN ALL MY DIFFERENT FRIEND CIRCLES BECOMING MUSICIANS?!?! Anywhere, for a first song, this is really good!!! It's not usually the style of music I'd listen to, but I can tell a lot of love went into it. Also, myrtle says under the description under her bandcamp that she's mostly just doing these little songs for fun and don't really see themselves truly going anywhere with it, and honestly I respect. She mostly ... read more

Teddy Thompson - Never Be The Same

I found this album while scrolling through the "New Releases" tab a while back, and I noticed the low User Score and was honestly super confused. Why is this rated so low, is it really that bad? That's when I decided to check it out for myself, and honestly, it doesn't deserve such a low User Score. It's honestly just a harmless country pop rock album, and I don't even listen to country music like that. It's fun, it's charming, and it's a great first ... read more

SLAYR'S FIRST CLONE!!! They grow up so fast that it brings a tear to my eye. Honorable mention to the childhood legends Mono, Blue, and Paul Frank on the album cover, them homies my goats for real. Now, onto the actual album itself, I saw someone on Twitter complaining about the yellow User Score and how they actually really like this album, so I was curious as to how it sounded. It honestly isn't that bad in my opinion. Yes, it's so painfully obvious that he's trying to ... read more

Kanye West - Yeezus
87

Yea, sure, whatever man, have the entire second half of this album contain some of the greatest songs to ever grace the planet Earth, fuck me I guess (/j). Going deeper into my Ye Discorgraphy Deep Dive mentioned on my KIDS SEE GHOSTS review, I did not realize that there's genuine levels to this shit. I think I understand the Ye hype now. Yeezus is the most experimental album out of Ye's discography because it's quite literally the backbone and blueprint of all modern hip-hop and ... read more

Mon Laferte - FEMME FATALE
100

The only way I can describe this album is if you took everything people love about Kali Uchis and combined it with everything people love about Laufey, then crank at all up to 9000, that's how good this album is! I really enjoy it whenever I get to listen to an album primarily in Spanish because it helps me closely connect with my own Hispanic roots. The fusion between salsa and jazz, along with pop, soul, and even trap elements at times was just a wonderful sight to see. There were ... read more

Schyzomandias7x - HENGOVER

This is the first recommendation I've recieved where it actually had two people who sent it, being @Pindos & @FlaRNyyy. I went into this with an open mind and... I'm sorry, it's just not good. There's potential, yes, I say that because some of the songs off this album are actually pretty good, but the album as a whole just doesn't work. I know the artist said that some of the songs on here are meant for comedic effect, but the jokes just don't land and are ... read more

Katy Perry - Legendary Lovers (Save Me)

Oh I was right, It's so peak, everything about this is perfect. I think I may shed a tear. The overlap of Katy and Keef near the end is genuinely heavenset. Prime Katy Perry is back, LET THE HEAVENS REJOICE!!!! X3

Katy Perry - PRISM
82

The news JUST came out that the OFFICIAL remix of Legendary Lovers with Chief Keef is coming at midnight TONIGHT!! So in order to prepare myself for absolute PEAK, I decided to listen to the album on which the original song comes from, which is Katy Perry's 2013 album "PRISM". Lemme just say that this was Prime Katy Perry and she had the world in her hands at this time, you can not convince me otherwise. This album, alongside "Teenage Dream" and "One of the ... read more

KIDS SEE GHOSTS - KIDS SEE GHOSTS

Y'know what? Fuck it, full Ye discography deep dive! I may listen to these albums spontaneously over time, as I still have other albums and other recommendations to get to, but I still want to dig more into Ye's discography because it truly has peaked my interest. As of writing this review, I have listened to 8 of Ye's projects, 9 if you include this one right now. KIDS SEE GHOSTS is the collaborative project of Kanye West and Kid Cudi, two people that dispite their difference in ... read more

Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
91

I was feeling down in the dumps over this recent wave of 0-bombers on the website, so I just wanted to listen to some music to take my mind off of it all. I was thinking of listening to a more recent release while looking through the "New Releases" tab, either nothing really peaked my interest or it was an album I had already listened to. I was looking through my "Recently Rated" tab to look through an artists catalogue. I already listened to all of CG5, I'm just ... read more

WilWith1L - Seattle 2023-24

I was recommended by @WilWith1L to check out his debut Mixtape, and I must say I'm quite impressed!! Wil obviously hasn't sound his set style yet, so this mixtape has a lot of experimentation on it. Wow, back-to-back experimental projects, who would've thought? It's a little messy, I'll be the first to admit, but as Wil continues to make music, his sound will surely come to him and he'll become unstoppable. Huge shoutout to two songs in specific being the ... read more

JPEGMAFIA - EXPERIMENTAL RAP
72

Experimental Rap, but it's all things that have already been experimented on and are known to work, so is it really experimental at this point? JPEGMAFIA has always been known for being the oddball of Hip-Hop, he mashes different genres together in ways no other artist before or after him can replicate. That alone is a feature that deserves some praises. However, as much as it is cool, it's like the saying goes, "Too much of a good thing turns it into a bad thing." There are ... read more

"@joe88 I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. I just personally think a 0 is serious overkill. A 0 would have to be genuine AI slop or the worst person in the world to earn that low of a rating, CG5 is neither of those things. I'd recommend a re-listen if you're alright with doing it. If you still rate it red, then I won't be mad, I just want it to be honest. Hopefully I'm not sounding too weird for saying all this"
On joe88's review of CG5 - Patiently
"@joe88 If he had a genuine impact on your life, then I can't be mad at that. However, it's just become the cool thing to hate on CG5 because "Ugggghhh, Only In Ohio bad, Grimace, uggggghgg". It's just a sign of being scared of being corny. There's nothing wrong with being a hater or being a fan, but blindly following someone, regardless if it's positive or negative, isn't the way to go. I love CG5, but I'll be the first to admit he has some really shitty songs, not even ones I can defend. However, I'm able to accept that while also knowing CG5 HAS the skill and talent to make good music, this album and his EPs being perfect examples. Nothing wrong with giving something a genuine chance, regardless if you end up being a hater or a fan."
