LISTENING TO THE ENTIRE ICEMAN TRILOGY (2/3) - MAID OF HONOUR:
Good morning guys!! I finally went to sleep after finishing up my "HABIBTI" review, so now it's time to review the 2nd installment of the ICEMAN trilogy "MAID OF HONOUR". I think this may be the weakest installment of the trilogy as there are a lot more lows than highs when compared to HABIBTI. Some of the songs have lessened in quality and I do have to agree with the masses here, having your mom as the ... read more
LISTENING TO THE ENTIRE ICEMAN TRILOGY (1/3) - HABIBTI:
This isn't my first Drake rodeo, I've known him for quite some time now. I've been aware since 2018 when God's Plan first blew up, that song was EVERYWHERE and I couldn't escape it. Fast forward to 2024 and the whole Kendrick vs. Drake beef goes into full effect and everyone was HOOKED!!! Even people who weren't even interested in rap chimed in to see what was up. In the end, Kendrick won and went on his ... read more
The people who don't like this album are either A. transphobic, B. close-minded to only their favorite genres, or C. Dabo dick-riders. That's like the only logical explaination I can come up with when it comes Jane Remover in specific because HOLY HELL, THIS ALBUM WAS AMAZING!!! A surprise drop from Jane under her "leroy" alias was definitely a treat, and it was one of the best albums I've heard so far in the year. Jane truly is a multi-genre threat because tell me why ... read more
I know @OrangeFoliage only recommened me his latest single, but I wanted to check out his first one and oh... my... goodness... MY BROTHER JUST ANOTHER ME FOR REAL!!! Orange, I gotta ask, can we please collab? Both of your songs so far have just been amazing and you truly have both the skill AND talent to make it big. I have high hopes for you because you're one of the first people on this website to truly impress me. Maybe it's because of my specific niche interests, but I'm ... read more
Huge shoutout to @OrangeFoliage himself for recommending me his song, this is genuinely a super beautiful song and it's just right up my allie with the Indie Rock sound. I don't think it's a "Shoegaze" song since they're a lot more grainy and distorted from what I know, but this song is still really good. Orange has an amazing voice that just puts you in a trance as you listen and I can't help but fall in love with it. If these singles are for an upcoming ... read more
Another IDK recommendation and I just gotta say that he's been COOKING with all these because this EP is just so good man. I can definitely hear some JID influence within these songs, but I've noticed as I listened that Dugui is only PRODUCING the songs and doesn't actually sing on them. This clocked to me once "LAST SUMMER" started playing, and I was waiting for the verses to start but they never did. It's still a really good song though, but it caught me off ... read more
Was recommended this album by somone I used to talk to, It was honestly a pretty decent listen. I'm not upset at it, but it definitely could've been better in my opinion. There's still a lot of good songs on this album, but it definitely starts to fall near the end. Gunnr, from what I've heard is definitely inspired by both the early EDM sounds of the 2010s and the recent rage sound of today. I can definitely hear a little Jane Remover influence in their music, so ... read more
DELUXE TRACKS:
Normally if I'm aware of Deluxe versions of albums, I would rate both the OG and the deluxe at the same time and just work through with that. I was not aware of the deluxe version of Eternal Atake until AFTER I finished the OG version, so I'm a little late to listening to the deluxe tracks, but it was DEFINITELY worth the wait because these extra songs make an already amazing album even better!!! This is definitely Uzi at their best and they truly to have the talent and ... read more
Funny enough, My parter was actually the one who put the idea in my head to listen to this album. They drew art of one of their OCs in the same color shceme of the album cover with the lyrics of the title track in the background, and I really liked it. They sent me the link to the song and I thought to myself "Why not listen to the whole thing?" So I did, best decision of my life. MY PARTNER KNOWS BALL!!! EVERYONE SHOW THEM LOVE PLEASE!!! On a real note though, this album has a Purple ... read more
My friend Idk (yes, their online name is "Idk"), recommended me to listen to this album and all I need to say is HOLY HELL!!! THIS ALBUM IS SO BEAUTIFUL BRO!!! I think this cements Deante in the GOAT comversation, right? That should be considered because this album may genuinely be one of the best rap albums of the year, hell even DECADE!!! Maybe I'm glazing too much for a first impression so let me calm down a bit. The only song off this album I honestly had some issues with was ... read more
My uncle unironically bumps Dax and I don't know how to feel about that. Looks like being a burger runs in the family I guess (/j), but this honestly isn't that bad, it doens't really get super good until the end where everything comes together, but it's still a nice message that needs to be heard.
This EP is still super good man, almost 3 years later and it STILL holds up perfectly to this day. I mostly know Sam Haft from him being the 2nd half of The Living Tombstone, but he's recently grown in popularity after being one of the main songwriters for the Hazbin Hotel soundtrack, which are honestly projects I REALLY need to check out on their own so I can form my own opinion on them. But as for the EP, I love it so much man, it's super good. It may be the bias talking since CG5 ... read more
I mean... I DID say that I was gonna check this album out after listening to the original Eternal Atake, and I do have a lot of thoughts I want to get out about this album. Let's just get the obvious point out of the way, it's not as good as the first one. EA2 tries to replicate what made the original EA so special to many people and long-time fans of Uzi, but some of the sames fail to reach that peak as Uzi is definitely trying to play safe with what's supposed to be the sequel ... read more
Shout out to that one Tomodachi Life video on TikTok where it was just their PinkPatheress Mii performing this song. Thank you for opening my eyes to peak!!!!
I was recommended by @Orki to listen to this album, after I so graciously recommended him CG5 and him giving both projects "10" and "11" respectively, I felt like I should return the favor by listening to a project he suggeted to me. I must say that this album definitely blew me out of the park by how high quality and enjoyable it is. I've known of Porter Robinson for a bit, especially from the masterpiece that is "Goodbye To A World", but I never sat down ... read more
Definitely a super underrated original from Charlie!! Definitely up there with my favorites and the music video is also a really fun watch as well!
TWO SHTEPPI ALBUMS BACK TO BACK?!?! HOLY I'M IN HEAVEN!!! She held yet another listening party for this album and I'm writing this all just as it ended. Now, sadly, this album isn't on the same quality as "are you lonely?" and the last song on this album, while heartwarming and nice, is just a weaker and less polished version of "you're not alone, dummy" off the original AYL. That doesn't mean that "a little bit." is a bad album. It TRULY ... read more
Copying over my score from the album review since I didn't want to flood my reviews the first time around, but this is a peak song!!! Tony and Marquis did their SHIT on this!!!
